Job description / Role

Employment: Full Time

Our company is bidding on a British Government proposal in Afghanistan and is seeking chefs to cook and manage the daily kitchen operations including kitchen staff. Ideal candidates will need to have excellent people skills, a strong background in catering, and be fluent in spoken English.

Requirements

- Manages kitchen and direct supervisor to the local cooks, assistant cooks, general assistants, and pot washers.
- With International diploma in catering, which includes a thorough knowledge of kitchen, dining room and food handling hygiene requirements.
- With minimum 3 years of experience in provision of catering services to a multicultural clientele in a conflict/post conflict zone for an international organization, industrial catering, or at a minimum of a 2-star hotel.
- Strict observance to the accepted international standards of food preparation, food handling/serving and food storage.
- With HAACP certificate.
- Experience in conflict zones, especially in Afghanistan an added advantage.
- Direct supervision of the cleaners in relation to the cleanliness of the kitchen, dining room and the immediate surrounds of the dining facility.
- Responsibility for a high standard of hygiene in the kitchen, food preparation areas, dining room and the immediate surrounds of the dining facility.
- Maintain a high standard of personal hygiene.
- The person shall be fluent in spoken English, possess strong inter-personal skills with an ability to take and give clear instructions in a courteous manner.
- Possess first aid, security, and fire safety training.
