Job description / Role

Employment: Full Time

Ensure the timeliness, accuracy and integrity of Daily Financial Transactions:
- Oversees and directs SBUs accounting activities, including general ledger, accounts payables, accounts receivables, payroll, fixed assets, and period end/ year end closing.
- Manages accountants and periodically reviews general ledger entries, verifies accuracy and compliance with the established rules and accounting principles, and ensures that all entries are supported with valid documentation.
- Prescribes adequate systems of internal control to ensure accuracy and adequacy of accounting records and documentation, including appropriate procedures, manuals, and standard practice instructions.
- Oversees timely payment activities to the various vendors and ensures that all the payments are properly authorized, in addition to managing banking relations in coordination with corporate finance function.
- Oversees the payroll payment processing to the SBU personnel in coordination with HR and Administration function.

Ensure the timeliness and accuracy and integrity of financial statements:
- Performs period end and year end closing of books.
- Ensures reconciliation will be performed monthly, quarterly, and at year-end closing (i.e. adjusting, closing and reversing entries, consolidation, inter-SBU transactions) will be recorded.
- Prepares the monthly, quarterly and year-end financial reports and financial statements.
- Facilitate the annual audit activities with internal and external auditors by coordinating provision of information required, clarifications required, etc. to ensure that the year-end audit package is accurate and complete.
- Supervises maintenance of ARASCOs Chart of Accounts and ensures general ledger data and information integrity.
- Provides accurate, comprehensive and timely information regarding the financial status through the utilization of effective accounting concepts, principles, procedures and on-time monthly closing and preparation of trial balance.

Staffing, Training & Appraisal:
- Communicates and discusses the functions guidelines and procedures with employees to ensure responsibilities, authorities and accountabilities are defined and understood.
- Provides guidance, support, leadership and management to the Accounting function employees to ensure effective and efficient flow of work, and ensures that all employees recognize their fundamental roles to achieve ARASCO's overall organizational objectives.
- Conducts annual performance appraisal to review employees performance, carries out disciplinary meetings when needed, recommends salary adjustments, rewards and promotions based on employee performance results.
- Ensures effective departmental performance through the selection, development, deployment and motivation of competent staff.

Policies, Procedures & Compliance:
- Monitors the adherence of accounting function employees to the SBUs guidelines, policies and procedures.
- Develops adequate policies, procedures and processes for the BU Accounting function to maintain efficient operational excellence in order to achieve ARASCOs overall strategic objectives.
- Implements and ensures adherence to corporate finance and accounting policies and procedures.
- Performs other duties and tasks as assigned.

Requirements

- Bachelors degree in Finance/ Accounting.
- Minimum of 6 years of solid experience in finance.

Job Specific skills:
- Experience in finance.
- Experience in corporate finance.
- Experience in accounting.

Generic Skills:
- ERP (SAP) & PC Applications knowledge preferable.
