Employment: Full Time

Our client, a multinational telecommunication company is currently recruiting a Chief Accounting Officer. This position is located in Morocco and you will be reporting to the CFO.

Summary
Responsible for managing the general accounting function, ensuring that accounting processes programs and reports are developed, implemented and effectively administered and consistent with corporate objectives and image working with senior management team to ensure that the overall accounting functions are effectively supporting the corporations strategic goals and company wide information and reporting requirements. Ensures that all necessary feeder systems and sub-ledgers have closed out to the general ledger. Provide a senior support in the capacity of CFO of Morocco to all the Finance related functions in the country and be a part of senior management team of Morocco.

Major Activities and/or Essential Functions
- Leads the operations and activities of accounting area and recommending strategy
- Provides a support to other Finance functions in order to complete the bridging job among different functions
- Provides the required Finance leadership in the country to ensure that all the Finance tasks are performed on time and up to the expectations
- Acts as local contact point for all the Finance team and be able to liaise with the verticalized leaders of different Finance organizations.
- Makes decision on policies implementation
- Oversees existing accounting programs and makes process and systems recommendations to higher level managers
- Recommends and implements changes to ensure organization achieves financial targets
- Works with other departmental managers in various functions within the company to ensure that the accounting department is meeting internal management needs and acquiring appropriate information to generate accurate reports
- Ensure financial systems and performance measurements are established/maintained to comply with appropriate policies Oversees the development and performance of internal controls and recommends modifications as needed
- Assigns objectives for the team and write appraisals
- Responsible for annual/periodical external/internal audits
- Develops short and long-term business plans, and internal metrics
- Implements work unit strategies, policies and processes
- Provides leadership for a work group that consists of managers, supervisors or individual contributors
- Mentors supervisors and associates in their pursuit of development opportunities by providing tools, suggestions, and learning opportunities to meet the individuals career goals
- Has overall responsibility for developing and administering budgets, schedules, and performance standards
- Should be able to work with the local tax consultants to ensure the local tax compliance
- Working knowledge of and applications of IFRS and experience in reporting under IFRS
- Able to work closely with Shared Services Center and be a part of effective team members to standardize and harmonize the processes per corporate guidelines
- Responsible for employment, termination, performance and salary reviews, performance improvement plans
- Works closely with all the other Finance teams (CFO, Front-Office, PF&CC, Treasury, Tax, etc.)
- Ensures compliance for:
- Corporate wide applicable rules and laws, like FCPA
- Local applicable rules and laws
- IFRS, ALAP or FCTs
- Acts as an active and productive team-member in the CAOs team of the META region
- Ensures SOX compliance and takes the ownership

Requirements

- Typically requires more than 5-8 years related experience with a professional degree in Finance or equivalent
- Fluent in English & French in both, oral and written
- An audit background is preferred
- Excellent in SAP, MS Office applications especially MS Excel
