Chief Commercial Officer

Job description / Role

To lead the commercial and procurement function, and ensure that all functions for major tenders and newly launched works comply with the requirements of the contract, with the objective of providing client satisfaction, safe and economical construction operations and maximizing profitability.

ACCOUNTABILITIES:
- Set strategic plan and milestones for the Commercial department to better serve the Arabtec's Construction's vision & mission. Partner with the CEO and Executive Team to drive overall business results, bringing on board highest level of business acumen, creativity and strategic thinking.
- Identify, oversee and manage Commercial department budget estimates/expenditure in line with company's guiding principles. Ensure the workforce of the department meet identified KPIs that guarantee achievement of the set goals and objectives.
- Lead the development of the company's procurement strategy, sourcing and managing supply, with an emphasis on achieving competitive pricing and quality materials in line with schedule and compliant with Arabtec's policies and procedures.
- Lead the development of contracts, and contracts management. Oversee satisfactory negotiation and contract closure.
- Lead and monitor the risk identification and opportunity in the proposal pricing in order to mitigate inherent risk at tender submission stage. Lead and direct the identification and management of all contractual risks in a timely and accurate manner.
- Oversee the fulfillment of requirements in the Corporate Procedures related to contracts and procurement function. Monitor and ensure compliance with all terms and conditions.
- Monitor the commercial and procurement operations and provide support in order to ensure the progress in planned direction and to correct the deviations.
- Improve and set standards of performance in order to achieve continual improvements in productivity & quality.

Requirements

- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering / Quantity Surveying or equivalent.
- MBA Degree (Added Advantage / optional).
- Additional qualification in Contracts and commercial management is a must.
- 20+ years of relevant working experience in contracts and commercial function in a construction company(Contractors)
- Exposure to strategic senior Estimation and Business development position in a corporate environment
- Western Candidates experienced in GCC Preferred.
