The Role


The Role

The role is with a leading bank based out of China and is looking for a senior position for their compliance division.
The position would be based in Dubai and the person would be responsible for setting up the compliance division right from inception.

1. Establishing, maintaining and updating in conjunction with senior management effective compliance systems, controls and written policies and procedures to ensure compliance with the regulatory system;
2. Identifying and keeping an inventory of applicable laws and regulations;
3. Monitoring and assessing on an ongoing basis (1) the adequacy and efficacy of the written compliance policies and procedures, (2) compliance with the written compliance policies and procedures, and (3)the adequacy and efficacy of measures taken to address deficiencies
4. Identifying and assessing the compliance risks associated with the Branch’s current and proposed business activities, including new products, new business relationships and any extension of operations;
5. Monitoring day-to-day compliance in business lines;
6. Performing compliance assessments and testing;
7. Providing advice and support to senior management in respect of compliance issues;
8. Arrange training for staff with respect to compliance issues and act as an advisor on compliance queries from staff members;
9. Reducing so far as possible the risk of Financial Crime.
10. Reporting to the Head Office on the Branch’s compliance risk and compliance management; and
11. Liaising with QFCRA, other relevant authorities and solicitors on compliance matters.
