Job description / Role

Prepare price cost estimates using CCS Software
Implement company practices in tendering
Successful post tender feed out and distribution of information
Assist with all the estimating functions of the company

• Review and report on the client’s RFD to enable a decision to bid
• Preparation of estimates and quotations based on the optimum design and prepare estimates for change orders, alternate designs and cost comparisons
• Check the proposal sketch done by the proposal draftsman to ensure accuracy of the sketch
• Prepare the proposal contracts and furnish complete notes, conditions, assumptions and deviations as per the client requirements and instructions received from consultant.
• Coordinate and discuss with engineering expertise to work out solution for the technical issues and to meet targets set by the Technical team
• Discuss the project invitation/proposal with the Technical Manager and make revisions as discussed during post tender clarification, alternate design and cost comparison stage, if required.
• Take quantities, prepare pricing, budgeting and variation tender (in case of variation/additional jobs) to avoid losses in new project.
• Coordinate with all departments to discuss the project requirements on behalf of the Estimation team.
• Check if the technical and commercial aspects of the project are according to tender specifications, customer queries and drawings and perform feasibility study to check capacity and resource availability.
• Negotiate tender price (if required) with the Client and submit BOQ as per the tender price in order to follow BOQ pricing for the entire project in future
• Make clear files of each project with number for future records/use.
• Submit complete documents (Drawings, quantities, budgets, revisions and tender) details to Project Manager after receiving the project in order to enable him to plan and accomplish project results
• Build up an accurate cost estimate for the permanent works in an elemental and analytical format
• Prepare an accurate cost estimate for the indirect resources required to carry out the works in accordance with the agreed program and engineering requirements
• Check the labor and plant resources accumulated in the cost estimate balance with those derived from the planned program.
• Prepare and present the commercial aspects of the tender for approval.
• Prepare the commercial tender for submission to the Client.
• On acceptance of the tender by a client check the proposed Contract reflects the enquiry documents and subsequent offer.
• Prepare and present the commercial handover documents to the Operations Team.
• Update the estimator database
• Prepare the proposal contract and put all the necessary notes, assumptions deviation etc.
• Revise quotations as required and create estimates for change orders, alternate designs and cost comparisons
• Work on improving existing estimating standards and system
• Make job site visits as required to investigate and keep abreast of field conditions and changing field operations.

Requirements

• 6 to 10 years of experience in construction industry and which at least 5 years should have functioned in the same role.
• Experience in using CCS software
• Strong organizational, communication and problem solving skills to ensure timely and accurate estimates.
• Computer literate in MS Office Suite packages, Auto CAD and in estimation related programs
• Strong numerical and technical analyzing skills
• Ability to prioritize
