Our client, a leading property development firm who is a subsidiary of a renowned Saudi business conglomerate, now seek to appoint a Chief Executive Officer to define and develop the organisation’s Real Estate short, medium and long term strategic objectives. This role is responsible for overseeing the implementation and accomplishment of these objectives in alignment with the organisation’s vision and mission. This role requires a strategic and lateral thinker with exceptional commercial acumen,

Reporting to the Board of Directors, the proven leadership performer we seek for this newly created role will be responsible to provide leadership and guidance to establish the organization as a leading business centre through appropriate real estate services and products, ensuring compliance with applicable regulatory frameworks and approved policies and procedures. The core of the role centres on Strategic Imperatives, Budgets, Service Development, Strategic Relationships, Operations, Board reporting, people and resource management. Responsibilities comprise to:

• Support the development of the overall strategic direction for the Real Estate and related functions in line with its vision and mission;
• Develop strategic plans based on market research driven understanding of customer needs, priorities and trends and recommend appropriate operative and implementation plans.
• Define overall performance criteria based on the long term vision of the entity and track the performance through the development of relevant matrices for evaluation; Oversee processes to align and track progress of the entity against plans,
• Set revenue targets; maintain revenues at optimum levels, corresponding budgets and a supporting policies and procedures framework.
• Interact regularly with senior management to ensure strategic alignment of Real Estate products and services to overall strategy and objectives.
• Oversee the financial statements and accounts and annual budget of the entity and submit them to the board of directors for approval.
• Manage agreed resources within Board approved budget and guidelines.
• Oversee and provide market research driven inputs on developing a Real Estate pricing strategy which is in line with the overall strategy and ensure all financial and business goals directly related to pricing are met.
• Ensure continuous improvement of products and services with the anticipation of future trends.
• Oversee the development and provision of all infrastructure requirements and outsourced services as per market, client and centre requirements.
• Identify opportunities to build strategic partnerships that build the profile of the centre and other real estate projects.
• Evaluate deals and investment opportunities (Local, GCC and International) based on defined criteria and provide recommendations to the board.
• Oversee, supervise and manage the execution of all initiatives for the real estate arm and leave the development of an operational plan to deliver upon the business goals.
• Oversee and ensure appropriate governance and risk management processes are effectively established and implemented.
• Collaborate with government authorities, regulators and zoning authority to ensure compliance with required regional and international policies and regulatory requirements in terms of operating protocols, confidentiality and legal requirements with regards to Real estate.
• Manage all relevant costs to maximize efficiencies to create value for the organization while ensuring a consistently high service quality level is maintained.
• Oversee alignment and operations of all concerned support services to support the overall entity goal and strategy.
• Represent the entity during Board of Directors meetings.
• Propose strategies, policies and objectives of the entity to the board of directors and to implement the approved strategies, policies and goals.
• Oversee and present to the Board of Directors reports on the implementation of respective functions/divisions plans, programs and objectives, reviewing these and referring to the Board of Director on as needed basis.
• Ensure the highest ethical standards are maintained throughout the entity.
• Promote and support a culture that supports the entity overall mission, vision and strategic objectives.
• Review Human resources and employee related requirements o the entity and ensure an appropriate HR strategy is developed; Ensure engagement and development.
• Maintain a close awareness of best practices and industry standards in real estate services and products to develop and maintain a world class physical and community infrastructure

Requirements

The attributes we seek for this successful candidate include:

• Bachelors Degree in Business, Property or comparable is essential with a Master Business Administration being highly desirable.
• 15+ years of relevant experience with the property sector with at least 10 years’ experience in a leadership role within the property sector. Candidates must have risen to General Manager level.
• Must be a proven performer in the achievement of deadlines and targets.
• Strong leadership skills, negotiation abilities, analytical skills essential as well as accuracy and attention to detail.
• Exceptional communication skills as candidates must be comfortable presenting at Board Level.
• Candidates who are familiar with the GCC region and have strong contacts will be highly regarded.
• Fluent English language skills (written and verbal) are essential with candidates with Arabic being highly regarded.
