Job description / Role

Employment: Full Time

The Chief Executive Officer is responsible to implement the strategic goals and objectives of the company by providing direction and leadership towards the maximization of the value yield of the company set by the Board of Directors thus ensuring maximum return on investment to the Shareholders.

He is responsible for overall efficient management and operation of the company in accordance with its mission, strategy, goals and objectives through:
- Productivity increases and cost reduction to ensure lowest production cost per unit
- Streamlining business by strategic planning, optimum resource, utilization, effective human management and efficient coordination of management activities
- Governance as per Board directives to ensure operating, economic, commercial and financial goals/ objectives are achieved
- Maintaining the highest level of professional reputation in terms of quality, service and integrity, customarily acceptable in the industry
- Maintaining high level contacts with Customers, Government and Press authorities so as to present a strong and oositive image of the company.

DETAILED DUTIES & RESPONCIBILITIS
- Interfaces between the Chairman & Managing Director and employees, supports their decisions and ensures that all their Directives are effectively implemented.
- In consultation and with the Chairman & Managing Director approval, develops strategic 5-year and short-term plans including underlying priorities, goals and objectives and specifYing resources required to achieve desired results.
- Develops and recommends yearly budget to be presented to the Chairman & Managing Director
- to obtain Board approval and prudently manages company's resources within approved guidelines to ensure maximum returns.
- Regularly evaluates the progress of the company and reports significant variances from approved budgeted stipulations to the Board, to the Chairman & Managing Director with recommendations for appropriate corrective actions.
- Develops and recommends to the Chairman & Managing Director, policies and procedures for the effective overall management of the company.
- Lays down guidelines for effective management of human resources in accordance with approved personnel policies and local labor laws and regulations.
- Works with general managers and staff members to ensure that:
- The company operates and adheres to approved policies and procedures, within budget limits and provides for substantial endowments to meet the company's needs;
- The company is aware of market and customer demand by conducting and or reviewing market research activities;
- The consultants selected for specific projects are trustworthy, professional and are reputed;
- Proposals and offers submitted to the company are evaluated competently to ensure that innovative options are considered diligently before decision is taken;
- Appropriate delegation of authorities and administrative powers exist to ensure good governance;
- The consultations with appropriate regulatory and government agencies are conducted in a spirit of cooperation and honesty;
- A positive and professional image of the company is projected in all its dealings through proper communication both internally and externally whilst maintaining the approved channels of authority.
- Forms internal committees and task force whenever necessary for smooth and efficient functioning and to achieve desired objectives or complete specific task or project.
- Encourages an open channel of communication with the Workers Trade Union to achieveharmonious worker-management relationship and mutual beneficial interests.
- Addresses major personnel issues in the interest of morale building amongst employees and team spirit within the company.
- Enforces and supports the Quality & Environment Management Survey of the company in accordance with ISO 9001:2000 respectively.
- Participates in donations and charities within budget provisions for worthy causes and projects towards betterment of the society and community within the Kingdom of Bahrain.
- Ensures a strong Public Relations presence in the company and organizes a well-executed P.R. programme in order to gain continuous understanding, confidence and support of employees.
- Always ensures that the company, its mission, product and services are consistently presented in a strong, positive and professional image to all its stakeholders and the community, in keeping with its reputation as a world class producer of Structural Steel

Requirements

- Bachelor of Science degree in any Engineering field or Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics/ Business Management with training at a senior level in corporate management, decision making, leadership and team building, time management and communication & personal skills.
- Extensive experience in the iron ore pelletizing plant industry or the iron ore and steel industry, of which 10 years should be at a senior management level and some experience working with a Board of Directors. Should have an understanding of the global steel industry, especially with reference to structural steel, its major manufacturers, consumers and their demand requirements and world markets.
- Should have proven leadership, team building, interpersonal and communication skills. He should be an analytical thinker of decisive nature with enthusiasm and vision for the company's progress. He is required to be diligent, honest responsible, flexible, self-motivated and energetic with an understanding of human values.
