Job description / Role
Charterhouse is working with a dynamic and innovative retail organisation who are focused on the continued development of strong brand presence in the UAE and GCC. With an approach to enhance customer service whilst providing new and internationally recognised brands and retail concepts coupled with investment and Joint Venture agreements, this business continues to grow across the regional markets. Our client is looking to hire a Chief Financial Officer.
Supporting the Group CEO and COO, this senior role will deliver across a broad ranging and challenging mandate. You will be responsible for financial and business planning to control and report both financial performance and operational costs including budget and forecasting oversight and controllership across areas of CAPEX & OPEX. You will also manage cash flow and treasury to deliver adequate funding across the group. Additionally, you will support Senior Management with MIS development and commentaries delivered in a timely and business friendly manner as well as ensure the completion and sign off of financial statements on a monthly, quarterly and yearly basis. Moreover, your accountabilities will include business development through financial strategy and appraisal of new investment or venture opportunities as well as the overview of compliance and internal controls to achieve a strong audit report and mitigate risk exposure through strong management of policy.
Requirements
The successful candidate should be a professionally qualified Chartered Accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or CPA) with more than 15 years experience within the retail or FMCG space coupled with a current track record within a Finance Director or CFO based mandate. You should have exposure to a group of companies whereby you have been responsible for the overview and management of multiple brands, sector verticals or geographical markets together with a skill set spanning financial accounting, management reporting and P&L ownership to deliver strong and robust commercial information supporting growth and continued diversification. It is essential you have the ability to work within the GCC market together with the required cultural awareness. In addition for this C level profile, you should be an influential communicator with excellent commercial acumen and leadership capabilities.
