The Role


The Role


• Review the results and financial position of the Bank and advise management on those major activities or results, which have a material impact on the financial position of the Bank

• Liaise with all departmental heads in preparation of the Bank’s annual budget and business plan and monitor the Bank’s performance against the budget

• Ensure the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual accounts in accordance with the prevailing law and regulations

• Ensure appropriate compliance with all statutory (CBO) limits such as capital adequacy, lending ratio and foreign exchange exposure, and liaise with relevant department heads, as required

• Review the cost of funds and pricing of loans and deposits and submit analyses / recommendations to management on regular basis

• Liaise with External Auditors for timely completion of the audit of the financial statements of the Bank

• Provide leadership and direction to the subordinates towards achievement of strategic business objectives

• Responsible for all activities relating to the General Ledger accounting function and the maintenance of Chart of Accounts of the Bank

• Develop and maintain strong financial control throughout the Bank providing support on finance, accounting, tax, risk and control operational and commercial issues

• Assist in managing the balance sheet structure and associated risk by analysing, monitoring and reporting the balance sheet issues

• Ensure effective assets-liabilities management and adequate planning and control, to manage risk and optimize profitability and growth

• Review and approve all returns required to be submitted ro Central Bank of Oman (CBO) and Capital Market Authourity (CMA) and ensure that that all CBO and CMA reporting requirement are met on timely basis.

• Manage the Treasury Back Office operations in order to ensure conformity with internal and regulatory guidelines. Assess appropriateness of dealing room operation by constant monitoring

• Respond to queries, compile and provide information on regulatory, taxation completion and financial matters

• Direct, coordinate and control payments of expenses to various suppliers and vendors

• Evaluate the performance of the subordinates and ensure they are operating within the guidelines and policies of the Bank

Qualifications / Experience / Skills required

• Master's Degree in Finance / Accounting or CPA will be preferred
• 10-15 years' professional experience in Finance / Accounts with a commercial emphasis
• Strong Analytical skills
• Effective communication skills to interact with all levels in the organizations with strong oral and written skills
• Collaborative and flexible style, with a strong service mentality
• Creativity, with experience funding activities in ways that both covers cost and generate operating margins
