The Role

To provide effective strategic leadership and professional guidance, discharging of all relevant statutory responsibilities relating to Legal, Corporate Governance, Shareholder Assembly and Board Secretary functions
Ensuring strategies, procedures and activities are developed and delivered which meet the needs of banks corporate leadership
Lead the implementation and maintenance of international best practice corporate governance standards across the bank and its related subsidiaries
To manage effectively the meetings and associated documentation of the shareholders and the Board of Directors
To oversee the management of all bank's legal affairs.

Requirements

University degree in Law, Business Administration, or related field, with excellent knowledge of business law
15+ years progressive experience in a comparable role, preferably at a large financial institution/s
Thorough understanding of both local and international regulatory and legal frameworks
Solid technical expertise in International Corporate governance best practices and principles, legal and compliance fields
Good understanding of regional and country micro and macro-economic fundamentals
