Employment: Full Time

Our client, a reputable large group is seeking to recruit a Chief Internal Audit Officer. The role reports directly to the Board of Directors.

The purpose of this job is to establish and manage an Internal Audit function to independently reviewing organizational activity, processes, operations, functions to determine whether these are efficiently and effectively being carried out as per the approved set of policies and procedures and also assess that these activities are functioning in accordance with management instructions and company governance measures.

Identify risk areas and recommend opportunities to improve operating performance, and suggest solutions to problems where and when appropriate.

Make sure that the Internal Auditing process is designed to add value and improve the Group's operations. And helps an organisation accomplish its objectives by bringing a systematic, disciplined approach to evaluate and improve the effectiveness of risk management, control, and governance processes.

Main responsibilities will include:

Coordinating with the top management team (GMs and functions Heads) of the Business Units and Service Units to be able to set Audit strategy to the best of the stakeholders.

Review and finalize audit plans covering major risk areas, major functions, operations, major profit and loss (P&L) accounts and balance sheets items to randomly check compliance with company policies and procedures and international best practices and standards.

Ensure compliance with the standards and professional ethics laid down by the appropriate professional auditing / accounting bodies (IIAS).

Evaluating the plans and actions taken to correct report conditions for the un-satisfactory disposition of audit findings; and provide adequate follow-up to make sure that proper corrective action is taken and that it is effective.

To conduct presentations to Executive Management / Managing Director to educate the management team with the best and new international auditing practices and suggests the best practices to enhance our business module.

Evaluates information security and associated risk exposures.

Provides support to the company's anti-fraud programs.

Direct and coordinate the Auditing financials and budget activities to fund operations, maximize the efficiency and increase security of information.

Takes up cost reduction and cost control measures on a continuous basis including optimum utilisation of resources.

Establishing and activate a strong and professional “Reporting Structure” of the Internal Audit function in the Group.

Setting a strong base to establish an Audit Committee in the Group, to raise the Auditing standard from the operational level to the strategic level.

Requirements

To be successful you must be/have:

• Qualified Accountant. Professional Audit qualification will be beneficial
• Minimum 10 years’ experience, Big 4 being part of
• Substantial experience heading Internal Audit function in a large conglomerate
• Understanding of emerging risk management concepts, corporate governance and internal control models / frameworks like COSO/COBIT

• Strong analytical abilities and process improvement skills

•Excellent leadership/people management skills
