Chief Operating Officer

Job description / Role

Triage is currently searching for a Chief Operating Officer for our client in the UAE.

Principal Function:

Provide day-to-day leadership in an operationally intensive business, to execute a specific strategic initiative, to serve as a complementary asset to the CEO, to essentially co-lead the company along with the CEO and to retain executive talent.

Direct, administer, and coordinates the internal operational activities of the organization in accordance with policies, goals, and objectives established by the Chief Executive Officer and the Board of Directors.

Lead and direct the functions and/or business units: operations, human resources, information systems, new business coordination. Plays a key role in promotion and communication at the organisation.

Assists the CEO in the development of organization policies and goals that cover operations, personnel, financial performance, and growth of the functions and/or business units Plans and directs all aspects of an organization’s operational policies, objectives, initiatives. Responsible for the attainment of short and long-term financial and operational goals.

Duties & Responsibilities:

1. Overall Leadership:

Contribute and assist in developing company’s operations strategy, tactics, long, mid, and short-term forecasting and overall efforts to continually improve performance through operations analysis. Expected use of responsible authority and excellent communications to profitably expand company.

The COO will establish, in close partnership with the CEO, metrics to manage key elements of the company’s operational performance required to meet both customer and financial expectations.

Demonstrate successful execution of business strategies for company products and services.

Direct the development of the organization to ensure future growth. Demonstrates expertise in a variety of the field’s concepts, practices and procedures. Relies on extensive experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals.

2. Finance :

Directs internal operations to achieve budgeted results and other financial criteria, and to preserve the capital funds invested in the enterprise. • Participates in the development and preparation of short-term and long-range plans and budgets based upon broad organization goals and objectives. Recommends their adoption to the Chief Executive Officer.

Works directly with financial officer to thoroughly perform operational cost analysis and determine the most efficient use of capital.

Responsible for controlling all P & L items and develop ways to increase revenue streams and reduce expenses.

3. Operations:

Responsible for planning and organizing internal company operations and supporting the CEO in maintaining a healthy corporate culture.

Direct the development and installation of procedures and controls, to promote communication and adequate information flow, and thereby solidify management control and direction of the enterprise.

Develop and establishes operating policies consistent with the CEO’s broad policies and objectives and insures their adequate execution. Appraises and evaluates the results of overall operations regularly and systematically, and reports these results to the CEO.

Ensure that all activities and operations are performed in compliance with local, state, and federal regulations and laws governing business operations.

Develop and maintains a sound plan of organization.

Establish policies to insure adequate management development and to provide for capable management succession for those functions/business units falling under his/her responsibility.

Ensure quality control of all company output as pertains to customer acquisition and delivery of services. Refine and enforce our clients high standard for customer service.

Establish and monitor performance reporting systems (i.e. track performance against goals/KRAs, ensure BU heads/site managers provide quality & periodic reports, provide regular updates to the CEO)

Regularly evaluate operating procedures and create centralized best practices within different Business Units to ensure uniform performance throughout the company.

Hire, train, motivate, direct, coach, evaluate and retain high performers.

Take charge in high-priority crises. • Attract, retain, and motivate world-class team to manage all of the above.

4.Technology:

Manage and plan further technology implementation into operational process, maximizing driver productivity and utilization of hours-of-service.

5.Administration:

Further develop and provide leadership and education to administrative staff. Have oversight of all organizational operations issue, including sales and safety.

Must present the company and himself with utmost integrity and professionalism.

Must be able to maintain a culture of a hard-working, yet fair and appreciative family environment.

Requirements

A bachelor’s degree in Engineering or equivalent.

Proven track record with working in a Leading Operation role within a IT service provider, with at last three years in a leadership position with experience in general management, project management and/or budgetary oversight.

Experience in senior operations management position of an organization with broad and complex responsibilities.

Solid working knowledge of budgeting, sales, business development, and strategic planning. Ability to develop, implement, market, and mange operational support services for multi-site services operation.

Thorough understanding of financial statements and working knowledge of procurement and supply chain processes and ERP/CRM systems.

Ability to schedule and set priorities for self and others, handle multiple concurrent activities, work within a budget, manage projects and people, meet deadlines and get positive results.

Strong interpersonal and verbal communication skills, excellent writing proficiency, professional appearance, and an executive demeanor.
