The RoleThe RoleChief Resident Engineer Infrastructure, Qatar Our client specialises in the provision of planning, design and management services for infrastructure development worldwide, they have interests in transportation, water, maritime and property and are currently undertaking commissions in over 70 countries from a network of more than 70 offices. With a presence in the Middle East for over 50 years, they have had experience on many of the landmark developments in the region. Our client has recently been made the lead consultant for the entire infrastructure development for another landmark development in Doha and now require a Chief Resident Engineer, Infrastructure The principal function of this position is to recruit and manage a team of resident engineers and site staff, for the delivery of approximately 10 major construction packages covering roads, bridges and all utilities power, water, sewage etc. |
RequirementsRequirementsPrincipal Functions: Develop and manage a team of resident engineers (and their site teams) responsible for their respective packages of work Manage interfaces at site between client contractors and other development contractors and establish systems and procedures to minimise conflict and maximise safe control at site. Manage interfaces with sub-consultants Oversee and manage site establishment, material storage, general access and other logistics. Manage, through REs and their teams, payments, variations, RFIs, claims and cost control Hold regular site meetings with contractors and client/client representatives. Provide monthly progress reports Establish all systems and procedures based on current material, and adapt to suit project specific conditions to achieve an efficient and safe site. Job requirements: The ideal candidate should possess and be able to demonstrate the following skills and knowledge: Leadership and management of large teams Experience of construction supervision/management of major, multi-disciplinary projects Approval of valuations Monitoring H&S Review of progress and construction of all work throughout the Lusail Development. Review of method statements for construction. BSc (Eng) & MICE (or similar) Significant construction management experience on major projects; Extensive experience in a similar role Middle East or developing country experience Proven experience of managing teams of inspectors Experience with Arabic clients, Resource loaded schedules and FIDIC contracts. Minimum 20-25 years experience with Consulting Engineers/Contractors |
