Chief Risk Officer

Job description / Role

Reporting directly to the GM and Chairman you will provide a strategic oversight / perspective & analysis of the measurement and management of the firms financial and non-financial risks. Managing a department approximately 30 in size, you will develop risk frameworks, risk appetite and risk mitigation tools & techniques.

Additionally:
* Formulate and review risk management policies
* Manage credit (70%), market and operational (30%) risks dynamically
* Portfolio monitoring and management
* Conduct stress testing to asses appropriate provision requirements
* Provide input and commentary on all credit and investment proposals
* Review and comment on any proposed revision of the internal control limits
* Review and evaluate all decisions to identify potential risks (financial, people, regulatory and operational)

Requirements

* A degree holder in a relevant field such as; finance, accounting, maths & statistics etc
* Have a robust background managing Corporate and Retail risk within a financial institution within the GCC
* Have previous GCC exposure is essential (UAE, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Oman, Bahrain etc)
* Hold a very strong Credit Risk (70% of the role) with good understanding of Operational and Market risks (30% of the role)
* Superb communication and leadership skills managing a department in excess of 30 people
* Previously developed and implemented a risk framework
* Previous board level exposure
