Our client is a well established local business head quartered in Dubai, with a highly profitable existing business and excellent scope for major growth as the markets continue to improve in the region. They currently seek to hire a high calibre Strategy professional to play a key role within the organization.

The role of Chief Strategy Officer will be to perform the following duties:

- To provide expertise by assisting in the formulation, development, and implementation of revenue generating strategies and policies under the leadership of the CEO.

- He/she assures the continued growth and success of the Company through strategically designing the organization to accomplish its strategic plan and focus on the key areas of expansion into new markets.

- Provide on-going support and expertise to all management personnel, assisting them in establishing and meeting or exceeding all set goals, objectives, policies, and procedures for all the organic functions of the Company.

- The CSO plays a leadership function in charting the Company’s course in business development and new business ventures.

- Ensure that the operational policies and procedures of the Company provide for legal and ethical compliance with all regulations, laws and good operating practices.

The Chief Strategy Officer (CSO) will be responsible for assisting the CEO with creating, communicating, executing, and sustaining strategic initiatives within the organization for the Middle East and East Asia region.

The role would be responsible for formalizing the company’s strategic planning and development processes, forging new working relationships and synergies across the organization, and establishing greater transparency and accountability for those people carrying out the company’s strategy. Needs to assess whether strategic initiatives, at all levels of the organization, are in line with the company’s standards and objectives. This is a key role in charting the Company’s course in business development and new business ventures. Must communicate and implement a company’s strategy internally and externally so all employees, partners, suppliers, and contractors understand the company-wide strategic plan and how it carries out the company’s overall goals.

Requirements

Applicants must be based currently in the Middle East, Europe, Australasia or the Americas. Middle East experience is highly preferred.

Applicants for this role must have an MBA from a top international university. A minimum of 10 years of strategy or general management gained from previous positions. Must have previous experience developing a corporate business model, leveraging synergies in the organization and optimize cross-functional processes. Will work closely with corporate functions and operating units.

This role requires an understanding of strategic and financial processes, including budgeting and project planning. Must have the ability to read, interpret, and review project run costs. Strong interpersonal, written and analytical skills are required. Must have the skill to lead, inspire and coach. Must be a ‘doer’ and lead by example. The professional must have strong process and methodological skills.

Must have working knowledge and experience of best management practices, management financial accounting and reporting, human resource planning, information technology and customer networking plus legal oversight of local regulatory issues. Should have experience adapting quickly to changes in the business environment. Must have experience working in cross divisional and cross functional organization through managing target conflicts and finding the right balance.
