Job description / Role

JOB SUMMARY

Lead the team in carry out surveying activities of properties and sites in order to provide information for building construction, alterations, valuations, land use and map making.

DUTES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Lead and supervise in the execution of surveying and inspection of properties and sites to establish property boundaries and to provide information for construction Projects.

Supervise in the inspection of properties on a regular basis to determine need for alterations and repairs.

Check all shop drawings prepared to ensure the completion of the required activities.

Check calculation of quantities for project activities such as (earthwork cut & fill, kerbstone, asphalt, etc.) to be used as support documents for cost estimation and calculation invoices.

Prepare reports to managers and staff of the organization on matters relating to building maintenance and modernization to ensure that properties are maintained to the required standards.

Participate in preparation of tender documentation, including the compilation of designs, drawings, specifications etc, and make recommendations on tenders received.

Assign tasks and assignments to the surveying team and monitor their performance and work output to ensure that works are done effectively.

Requirements

QUALIFICATION

- Bachelors Degree in Surveying and/or Civil Engineering
- Four (6) years experience in a Road Construction Company
- Knowledge of mathematics, survey computer programs, and survey computations applicable to the work
- Knowledge of the principles and practices of land surveying
- Ability to apply knowledge to land surveying activities and techniques
- Ability to do transit and level work, which may include application of total station instruments to survey projects
- Ability to make engineering sketches, maps and drawings
- Ability to read and interpret engineering plans and specifications
- Ability to communicate effectively with others
