Job description / Role
Working as a buyer for Harvey Nichols and Bloomingdales you will be solely responsible for acquiring the childrenswear for the Stores. It will be your primary responsibility to know and understand your market and target audience. Performing regular research and keeping up to date with trends and seasonal demands will enable you to ensure all stores are appropriately stocked with relevant products and materials. You will monitor store activities including marketing and promotional and analyse individual stores performance figures to ensure demand is met at all times. Using the findings from these reports you will ensure excess stock is kept to a minimum and all unused stock is marketed and ideally sold at a profit. You will work with internal and external customers in order to achieve your targets including merchandising, marketing and logistics.
Requirements
You will have worked in a Retail buying capacity in a luxury childrenswear fashion brand. You should have excellent planning and organisational skills. You must have a keen eye for detail. With strong communication skills, you will have the ability to build relationships across an international professional network and use these relationships to negotiate and close international transactions. You should have ambition and be willing to work in a busy team.
You should have a minimum of five (5) years experience in buying. Having worked with an international brand you would have completed and managed international transactions and logistics.
You must have experience in childrenswear and preferably working in a Luxury fashion brand or Luxury Department Store.
You will be educated to a minimum of degree level preferably in Retail, Business Management or sales.
