Civil Design Engineer

Job description / Role

We are recruiting Civil Design Engineers for a successful international company in Abu Dhabi. This permanent job opportunity is suitable for candidates with experience in infrastructure civil design. Ideal candidate will lead the detailed design process for all civil elements and for design changes during the execution phase and working in close collaboration with the design consultants.

Job responsibilities:

• Responsible for the civil detailed design process from commencement to delivery, management and supervision of design consultants, writing technical specifications, scope of works, RFP, ATP documents for civil infrastructure
• Verification of detailed design packages ensuring compliance with International, UAE and Oil & Gas company standards/requirements as a minimum
• Provide specialist support to internal clients
• Provision of civil engineering design solutions for civil design related problems within the design team of the Professional Services division in Abu Dhabi and to the design consultants
• Implementation of new design requirements and design change requests from the projects and the transfer of revised designs to the Professional Services division in Zurich
• Maintaining both internal and external client and supplier relationships
• Proactive involvement in ongoing works and with any necessary design change in accordance with the project requirements
• Maintaining quality control
• Assistance in the management of cost and time control

Requirements

• B.Sc. in Civil Engineering
• Driving license
• Minimum 10 years of experience in civil engineering design is essential
• Membership of a recognized professional body; ICE, PE etc. is essential
• Good working knowledge and experience in civil design combined with a knowledge and appreciation of electrical and mechanical elements
• Good knowledge and experience of International and UAE codes and norms are a must
• Working experience in Oil and Gas fields would be of advantage
• Experience with AutoCAD is essential
• Fluency in English, verbal and written
• Experience with design review & design supervision
• Experience with large-scale projects
• Experienced with multi-national and multi-cultural teams
