Job description / Role

Employment: Full Time

Independently develops methods and solutions for engineering problems; selects the most efficient and economical manner in meeting the various design engineering requirement on medium to large infrastructure related projects or studies. Completes a wide variety of difficult engineering assignments, applying engineering techniques and analysis within one discipline.

The Engineer at this level is a fully qualified professional, proficient in the utilization of most engineering theories and practices. Some assignments involve CAE/CAD (computer aided engineering/computer aided design) applications.

To meet design engineering targets, and assist positioning the Middle East Operations for long term growth.

Ensure technical reviews and compliance of design engineering with Quality Management Systems to maintain and improve high quality deliverables to our clients.

Target meeting or exceeding client expectation. Performs complex engineering tasks and particularly important engineering work efficiently and accurately.

Extracts engineering information from CAD drawings. Prepares engineering computations, material quantity takeoffs, estimates, surveys, and designs. Prepares engineering reports with minimal supervision.

Completes a variety of assignments such as drawings, specifications, and other materials suitable for procurement and construction purposes. Frequently interfaces with other Engineering disciplines as well as other departments.

Prepares and issues specifications, data sheets, and other construction documents.

Provide high quality design engineering inputs to a range of water related projects. Improve engineering design efficiency. Complete all projects on schedule and within man-hours and cost budgets. Increase internal/external client satisfaction. Improve internal/external client communications. Decrease client changes.

Requirements

Degree in Civil Engineering or related subject from Major University. 14 years postgraduate experience of infrastructure engineering design particularly water and wastewater networks with progressively increasing responsibility. At least 7 years of recent similar design experience. Must include periods with large consultancy practice.

Provides specialist services in support of project requirements. Independently performs highly complex professional assignments demanding contributions calling for the applications of specialized principles.

Previous experience of building network models using SewerCAD, WaterCAD, KYPipe, Infoworks and similar hydraulic design software

Extensive and knowledgeable computer skills (CAE/CAD and database programs)

Ability to implement Quality Management System on projects effectively

Working overseas or in the region essential.
