Job description / Role

Employment: Full Time

Supports the Design Management Group in performing civil design reviews and conventional and moderately-complex engineering assignments, applying engineering techniques and analyses. The Civil Engineer at this level is proficient in the utilization of standard engineering theories and practices. Some assignments involve CAE (computer aided engineering)/CAD (computer aided design) applications. Responsible to ensure the correct implementation of the project quality plan and quality procedures and productivity related to all civil works.

Provides civil engineer reviews of design submittals commensurate with the various phases of design.

Reviews supplier drawing submittals and performs technical bid analyses as assigned by the Infrastructure Design Manager.

Reviews and/or prepares and issues specifications, data sheets, and other civil construction documents as necessary.

Provides technical guidance to CAD Technicians.

Monitor compliance with all applicable codes, regulations, and ordinances.

Reviews supplier drawing submittals and performs technical bid analyses for assigned civil design works.

Supports the review and checks of civil designs including BOQ checks and reviews and/or prepares responses to RFIs related to assigned design and construction projects.

Reviews the scope of civil design work according to the contract and monitors progress of civil design work by others.

Coordinates production of relevant drawings and their release for the execution of works.

Supports the Infrastructure Design Manager in performing other tasks as deemed necessary as related to bridge works.

Requirements

Degree in Civil Engineering with minimum 8 years of related work experience. Registration as a professional engineer desirable.

Experience in pump station projects, Waste Water Projects, Sewerage Systems, and other civil type works commensurate with the construction of large industrial or infrastructural projects.

Proven ability to perform in a technical role, good written and oral communications skills, and a thorough knowledge of industry practices and regulations are also required.

In addition, must be knowledgeable of current technology and how it can be effectively utilized on the project.

GCC experience is preferred.
