Job description / Role
CDM Smith has been selected as the construction supervision consultant for a major highway project, which consists of widening existing highway with bridges, interchanges, intersections and associated works.
We are currently searching for a Civil Engineer who has construction supervision experience on complex highway projects to work for CDM Smith on this project.
Job Responsibilities:
- Reports to the Resident Engineer (RE) on all issues related to his area.
- Inspects and supervise construction works.
- Ensures compliance with approved methods and contract requirements.
- Supervise construction team and provide input regarding performance to Resident Engineer.
- Provide support on other engineering activities as required.
- Ensures that the contractor is working in compliance with the method statements and agreed inspection and testing plans.
- Assist RE in managing the components of the highway project.
- Assist RE in administration of contract and overseeing other inspection staff.
- Assure that proper document control, quality assurance documentation and construction project records are kept and in compliance with clients policy and procedures.
- Ensures that the construction team is working within contractual boundaries.
- Ensures that the construction team is pro-actively managing the overall construction supervision schedule constrained within the project time frame.
- Regular and accurate progress reporting to CDM Smith.
Requirements
- Bachelors Degree in Civil Engineering from an accredited university.
- At least ten (10) years professional experience, in various assignments including site supervision and construction management.
- Must have experience with road / highway projects.
- Prior experience on projects of similar size required (approximately 200 Million AED).
- Excellent written and oral communication skills in English.
- Approval from Municipality / Roads Agency / Ministry is highly desirable.
- Prior experience in the Middle East preferred.
