CH2M HILL Civil Engineer (Water) - Abu Dhabi, UAE

Job PurposeCH2M Hill's Water business is expanding its delivery capabilities in the Abu Dhabi office to support the delivery of major water related projects throughout the Middle East region.
Our continued growth and development has led to an increased need for an experienced civil engineer to join our Engineering & Design team.

The team deals with a wide range of public, private and Industrial water sector clients.

Job Responsibilities:
Design of water, wastewater and industrial water facilities, including:
- Overall site layouts
- Buildings
- Pumping stations and reservoirs/tanks
- Site infrastructure
- Earthworks
- Preparing calculations, drawings and specifications.
- Liaison with other disciplines and ability to provide integrated design solutions
- Preparation of technical reports and tender documentation
- Provide technical guidance and governance on quality of outputs produced by the team
- Assisting with the preparation of bids and proposals
- Prepare and deliver presentations to clients, contractors and peers

Requirements

Basic Qualifications

Job Requirements:

- A Bachelor' s degree in Civil Engineering.
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in a professional civil/water Engineering position.
- Must have worked at least 5 years in a similar role, supervising and guiding a team of engineers & designers working on the various aspects contained with pressurized and gravity systems and conveyance systems.
- Experience in reviewing key deliverables prepared by the water team.
- Thorough knowledge of industry practices, codes and standards applicable to water and wastewater engineering and surface water systems.
- Working knowledge in the design and analysis of pressure and gravity networks.
- Experience in the design of water and wastewater facilities.
- Basic knowledge of AutoCAD, Bentley software, Microstation and 3D Modeling Tools.
- Experience of working on projects for MENA clients preferred.
- Periodic travel to offices within MENAI region will be expected.
- Should have excellent communication skills essential for Client, Interdisciplinary and Vendor coordination, and coordination with other work-share offices.
- A personal commitment to work to tight deadlines while under pressure.

In addition to the requirements above, the following would be advantageous:

- Industrial water experience.
- A working knowledge and familiarity with BIM (Building Information Management).
- Some construction experience.
- Chartered engineer status (or equivalent).
