Job Purpose
CH2M Hill shall maintain personnel at the site whose sole responsibility shall be the development and overall management and implementation of the contractors Quality Control Plan (QCP) and have the authority to act in all Quality Control matters.

Duration: 18 months
Working 6 nights per week.

The CQC team has overall responsibility and authority on the project in matters related to Quality Assurance and Quality Control for the STEP-Pumping station Project and these include:
1) Ensuring that processes needed for the Quality Management system are established implemented, maintained and continually improved.
2) Authority to reject materials or workmanship which does not meet requirements of our client or requirements of approved method statements.
3) Authorities to stop work, if appropriate, on the project or any portion of the Contract as necessary until the required corrections are made.
4) Ensure sufficient personnel to cover all sites activities and all aspects of the work to ensure the quality of work to be performed according to Contract Specifications.
5) Review for Completeness of all the Contractor's submittals required under the Contract prior to submission for the Engineer's approval.
6) Reporting to Contractor on the performance of the Quality Management system and any need for improvement.
7) Ensuring the promotion of awareness of our clients requirements throughout the project processes.
8) Determining and providing the resources needed to provide high quality control services.

Principal responsibilities of the Inspector are as follows:
1) Ensure that the performance of the work is strictly according to the plans and specifications
2) Ensure that all inspection will be according to the approved PQP, ITP, method statement and shop drawings
3) Responsible for the effective implementation of the Project Quality Control Plan, Quality Assurance Procedures , Method statement & Inspection Test Plans.
4) After notifying the QCE/AQC the IOW is authorized to issue a Non-Conformance Report (NCR) when an observed defect is not rectified within two working days
5) IOW will follow closely the NCR and will ensure that the non-complying work, reported in the NCR, is rectified and for satisfactory closure of the NCR.
6) Maintain a detailed diary of the day's work activities, issues, work approved or rejected, hours of operation, labor and equipment used, etc., and sign at the end of each day
7) Maintain the approved quality records/documentation on site for review and implementation. (Drawings, Method statements, ITP, PQP etc.)
8) Coordinate with the Contractor's foreman in charge of the work on a daily basis to check on the proper execution of the work
9) Coordinate with the Mechanical Technician and arrange for sampling and testing of satisfactorily completed work, and quality assurance testing of suspect material
10) Report to the Quality Control Engineer any failure/defect that resulting from work executed by the Contractor or any other sub-contractor working on-site.
11) Maintain records of completed works for interim and final payment and as-built plans
12) Advise the Contractor's site supervisors on Quality improvements that can be made during the execution stage.
13) Advise the Contractor's site supervisors on methods to achieve a higher standard of quality in a clear, professional and non-confrontational manner.
14) Report and record any accident that occurs on site and notify the Quality Control Engineer & HSE Manager immediately
15) Enforce the performance of the work in strict accordance with the approved Quality Control and Safety Plan.

Requirements

- Associates Degree or 2 years of formal technical training, or equivalent experience
- 7 - 10 years experience as a civil inspector in a high end infrastructure project
- Needs a clear understanding of quality management
- Must take active steps for training and self-development
- Should be capable of building trust in works relations
- Degree Required
- Associates or 2 Year Degree
