Job description / Role

Employment: Full Time

Job Description
* Check on the quality of the Source of Wealth if it meets all set standards for Account Opening
* Review the other Due Diligence requirements such as corroboration for the Source of Wealth, reviews of any adverse media findings, completion of other AML Checks
* Review accounts against all set internal standards for Client Due Diligence
* Reviewer of searches done to check and evaluate on adverse findings
* Review AML checks in relation with Risk Factors
* Determine and advice the front line if other searches are needed to supplement those already done for Account Opening and Periodic Reviews
* Advise on Private Bank CDD policy and procedures and applicable local laws and regulations

Key Roles & Responsibilities
* Advise on and escalate higher risk relationships and reputation risks arising from CDD
* Assessing CDD risks arising from specific clients and advise the business on management and mitigation of those risks in the best interests
* Consultation with functional experts (i.e. Legal, Fraud Control) as needed
* Contribute to the implementation and controls for daily processes and assist with the update of procedures
* Provide feedback and escalating issues to the appropriate support functions; the Front line team and the Client Due Diligence Head.
* Leverage on expertise and train the front line in order to produce high quality SOW and complete Account Opening and periodic review packs to avoid reworks and to aid in faster turnaround time.
* Comply to agreed turnaround times for assigned activities as detailed in the Document Operating Instructions and the Service Level Agreements.
* Promote the spirit of continuous improvement by flagging any procedural issues that impact delivery of responsibilities with suggestions improvements and work around.
* Liaise with necessary front line, counterparts and stakeholders across various Standard Chartered locations.
* To maintain an ongoing awareness of new policy and procedure roll outs, especially that of AML/CDD
* To work closely with the front line and the Data Quality team ensure seamless Account Opening
* To maintain an up to date trackers as needed
* In case there is an LCC (Local Client Committee) requirement:

Requirements

Should have background and exposure on the following areas below, gained in a bank, leading regulator or a equivalent consultancy firm.
* CDD advisory
* AML Advisory
* Compliance and legal advisory
* Account onboarding reviews
* Relevant operational risk background
* Audit background

Knowledge
* Solid understanding of regulatory requirements and internal procedures and how they inter-relate.
* Displays expertise on the CDD guidelines
* Knowledge of the due diligence and local money laundering requirements
* Account onboarding reviews
* Relevant operational risk background
* Audit background

* Excellent verbal, presentation and written communication skills
