Job description / Role
Responsible for providing the leadership and management skills necessary to effectively oversee the selection and deployment of an integrated Electronic Medical Record (EMR) system. Responsible for assisting in the hiring development of staff members to assume continuing responsibility for the implementation and on-going support of clinical applications/technology.
Key Outputs:
- Participate in the development of the ICT annual operating expenses and capital budgets
- Monitor and administer departmental expenditures within the clinical application area
- Manage routine tracking and reporting mechanism to provide ongoing status of budget performance
- Participate in the negotiation of vendor software, service and service contracts. Evaluate all expenditures to determine the most appropriate course of action
- Planning, prioritizing, managing and scheduling projects and routine assignments
- Assigning technical, supervisory, administrative and financial resources to meet approved goals
- Developing and implementing effective written mechanisms to document and report on all plans, priorities, schedules and the current status of all projects and assignments
- Assisting with the development, implementation, communication and promotion of strategic and tactical plans
- Providing ongoing leadership and motivation to ensure the staff are focused and capable of producing expected results
- Responsible for establishing a governance model to ensure effective communication, leadership and ongoing support to clinical application stakeholders
- Complying with policies, procedures and practices of HAAD and other regulatory requirements
- Maintaining confidentiality with regards to information exchanged or received in the current capacity of the role in accordance with corporate policies
Requirements
Bachelor's degree or diploma in Clinical specialty area (RN, MT, Pharmacy) OR Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Information Technology/Computer Science and Minimum of 8 years experience designing, implementing, managing and/or supporting clinical information systems within a healthcare setting and 5 years of progressive leadership responsibility
Desired:
- Recognized Project Management certification such as PMP, Prince2, etc.
- Master's degree or equivalent in related Clinical area, Computer Science, Business Administration
Additional Requirements/Remarks:
- Proficiency in English Language, Arabic Language would be desired
- High level of verbal and written communication skills.
- Proficiency in MS Tools.
- Strong negotiation skills
- Strong analytical and problem solving skills
