Job description / Role

Employment: Full Time

The Clinical Coordinator - HIM , coordinates, administers and monitors all the medical records activities such as clinical coding, medical transcription and health statistics. The individual is also responsible for ensuring that the medical records services are being provided according to the approved policies and procedures.

KEY ROLE ACCOUNTABILITIES
- Manages the coordination and integration of medical record services with other departments
- Ensures adherence to agreed service level agreements for internal and external customers
- Works with data quality managers and other health information management professional to ensure the quality of the organizations health information
- Applies established guidelines and policies governing coding, chart analysis, medical transcription and translation, archiving, release of information and data entry
- Maintains system for identifying individuals with duplicate medical record number and encounter number
- Develops and maintains communication systems for notifying other departments of duplicates and surviving numbers to assure synchronization within the various clinical application solutions
- Coordinates with coding services where required to ensure that all the patient encounters are coded and updated
- Coordinates with the release of information services where required to ensure that all the patient information requests are handled efficiently
- Oversees that all the data filed is up-to-date, accurate and complete, and meets the data quality standards of the facility
- Manages and develops the Clerks to ensure the accuracy of the medical records and case notes.
- Maintains the confidentially of all medical records
- Adheres to Sidras standards as they appear in the Code of Conduct and Conflict of Interest policies

In view of the evolving needs and opportunities within Sidra during this pre-operational phase, this position may be required to perform other duties as assigned and reporting relationships may vary.

Requirements

- Bachelors degree in Relevant field.
- 3+ years of experience in information management.
- Good communication skills.
- Planning and coordination skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite.
- Fluency in written and spoken English.
