Job description / Role
The Pediatrics Department is committed to providing safe, timely and appropriate services to all pediatric medical and surgical patients, resulting in quality patient outcomes and early discharge.
We provide the highest level of care for all our patients, in addition to patient and family education, whilst observing privacy and confidentiality. Our remit is to communicate and corporate closely with all other departments in Hamad Medical Corporation to gain support and assistance and to ensure comprehensive care for all children.
We place great emphasis on medical services, patient care and education, continuing staff education and competency validation to achieve high levels of customer and staff satisfaction. We work closely with the wide range of medical departments to achieve these aims.
The pediatric department is sub-divided into:
- Pediatric Medical (average 100 patients/day)
- Pediatric Surgery (average 200 patients/day)
- Pediatric Day-care unit (average 400 patients/day)
- Pediatric Intensive Care Unit up to level 2 (average 50 patients per day)

Requirements
We at HMC expect the successful candidate to organize paediatric nursing staff development program including the following components:
- Orientation,
- In-service education,
- Continuing education,
- Training and management development
- Establish educational goals within the framework of the strategic plans and missions of the nursing department.
Knowledge, Skills & Experience required:
- Bachelors Degree in Nursing and 5 years of clinical experience in Paediatric nursing practice
- Post-graduate diploma in paediatric nursing is desirable but not necessary
- At least 2 years of experience in clinical nursing education/classroom teaching/in-service teaching for paediatric nurses
- Valid PALS certification
- Valid home country nursing registration/license
- Please note: this position requires licensing with the Supreme Council of Health of the State of Qatar
