College Principal - Construction College

Job description / Role

This company (based in the UK) is looking to hire a College Principal with a construction / FE / ME background to run their new college in the Eastern Province of Saudi Arabia. The college is due to open in in around Feb/March, with this, they are looking to secure the Principal first, so that they can play a role in the implementation project and build their team ready for opening.

Key Responsibilities:
- Ensures that the project is focused throughout its life on achieving its objectives and delivering product that will achieve the forecast benefits.
- Oversee the development of the Project Brief and the detailed Business Case, ensuring that the project is aligned with corporate strategies (and presenting the outline Business Case to corporate or program management for approval where required)
- Transfer responsibility for post-project benefits reviews to corporate or program management
- Monitor and control the progress of the project at a strategic level, in particular reviewing the Business Case regularly
- Ensure that risks associated with the Business Case are identified, assessed and controlled and escalate issues/risks to corporate/program management if project tolerance is forecast to be exceeded. Make decisions on escalated issues, with particular focus on continued business justification
- Organize and chair Project Board reviews
- Ensure overall business assurance of the project - that it remains on target to deliver products that will achieve the expected business benefits, and that the project will be completed within its agreed tolerances.

Requirements

- Degree Holder with 15 years' work experience of which 5 years should be in senior project management or senior leadership role within a training environment.
- Technical background, ideally in the construction / FE / ME sector
- Proven and demonstrable leadership skills
- Proven and demonstrable cultural sensitivity and awareness

Package:
Salary ($135000) + allowances + 1 annual return flight

Start date will be early 2015.
