Job description / Role
Marks & Spencer, part of Al Futtaim Retail, is a globally recognized retail brand offering stylish, high quality, great value clothing and home products as well as outstanding foods.
With 25 stores currently located across the GCC including locations in the UAE, Oman, Egypt, Bahrain, Kuwait and Qatar there is further growth planned with an additional four stores to open in 2013 to further strengthen this exciting brand within the Middle East market. We are seeking a Department Manager for the Marks & Spencer store, located in Landmark Mall in Doha, Qatar.
As a department manager for this reputable company you will be responsible for:
* Ensuring the department provides a pleasant shopping experience for customers.
* Monitoring and reviewing sales targets for the relevant commercial department.
* Ensuring that department and store objectives are achieved.
* Managing and developing staff within the department in order to achieve departmental and personal goals.
* Ensuring the department and staff abide by the workplace health and safety and company policies guidelines.
* Conducting regular surveys on competitors by visiting thecompetitor's outlets.
* Reviewing and controlling the costs, in order to maximize profitability.
* Planing and implementing product/range launches to maximize the use of store footage.
* You will requireto work at least 48 hours per week. Your work schedule will vary each week, which includes working a late evening/ night shifts, weekends and holidays.
Requirements
* You will be a strong team player, a lover of fashion retail, with an intense desire to have a successful career in the fashion retail industry.
* You must have a minimum of two years retail management experience, and be able to manage a diverse customer profile and expectations.
* You must have a passion for retail, customer service, and be commercially focused with a solid understanding of the brand.
* You will possessand demonstrateeffective organizational, communication, presentation and interpersonal skills, decision-making and problem solving skills.
* You will be computer literate and have good numerical skills.
