Job description / Role

Employment: Full Time

• Review and draft contracts, agreements, tender documents and ensure that they are in compliance with all statutory or legal requirements and legal advice provision to the Business Area (litigation, or indirect purchase contracts (e.g. lease agreements, non-contract related supply agreements).
• Directly participate in all key contract negotiations, taking the lead in the commercial / legal aspects of such negotiations.
• Providing accurate and timely advice to internal customers on a range of legal and contract-related issues arising from various commercial agreements, (e.g. power purchase agreements, purchase orders, sales contracts, subcontracts, complex technical projects, confidentiality agreements, , etc).
• Support the AGMs / GMs in resolving any contractual disputes with the client and in contract interpretation, ensuring also that any disputes are escalated to relevant AGM / GM, Middle East HOF, MD, EMEA as appropriate.
• Maximizing revenue on all contracts through investigating specific areas of potential loss of the Company.
• Providing training on the company’s legal and commercial policies and best practice to ME Management Team, sales managers, project managers, and other relevant functions.
• Ensure BU conforms with the Commercial Authority Matrix for all quotations, tenders and contracts and is in compliance with Aggreko’s risk management framework.
• Prepare Project Risk Summaries (PRS) on all relevant contracts.
• Manage the processes of Consultants payments in Middle East in line with Aggreko procedures.
• Regular reporting to Head of Legal (including but not limited to monthly legal report).
• Co-ordinate with Group Treasury and Tax to ensure appropriate structuring and protection in line with Group guidelines and requirements.
• Lead contact for Middle East on insurance matters.
• Display commitment to Orange Excellence initiatives.
• Be actively committed and accountable for compliance to the Aggreko Health, Safety & Environmental policies, operating procedures and compliance to local legislation.

Requirements

• Legally qualified with 2 years+ PQE in a western qualified jurisdiction
• Commercial/contract law background
• Contract review/drafting experience required
• Excellent oral presentation and negotiation skills
• A practical, energetic person with the ability to work autonomously when required and to take additional responsibilities as they arise
• Ability to work with difficult customers under time pressures.
• Willingness to travel worldwide and particularly within the GCC and Iraq as the job requires from time to time, sometimes at short notice.
• Relevant GCC experience is desirable but not essential
• Availability to travel as and when required
