Job description / Role
Commercial Lines Underwriter to execute the timely issuance of commercial insurance policies with the assistance of an Underwriting Team.
Area of Knowledge:
• A broad knowledge of underwriting and risk management
No. of Years Experience:
• 5+ years underwriting experience
Requirements
Business Knowledge:
• The role requires a broad knowledge of insurance products
• The role requires a basic knowledge of the Claims process
• The role requires a broad knowledge of the company’s clients and the general insurance market “in country”.
• The job requires a broad knowledge of industrial operations and processes in relation to assessment of risks.
Independent Thought and Judgment:
• The job requires a certain amount of independent thought and judgment in order to assess and rate risks of varying complexity and to prepare quotes in line with the underwriting guidelines
Secondary or Tertiary Education:
• The job requires a tertiary level education
• Preferably the job requires a diploma in Insurance
• Preferably the job requires either ACII / AII or equivalent professional qualifications.
