Job description / Role

Employment: Full Time

- The Commercial Manager will lead and manage the day-to-day Commercial management of the design office, associated design production and ongoing projects as well as coordinating the commercial appointments for services being provided by all parties, including sub-consultants.
- The role will include the commercial management input into the preparation of consultancy proposals and the formulation of fee bids and related terms and conditions.
- The Commercial Manager must understand and interpret companys rights and responsibilities under the signed contract for the Services. Setting up the commercial administration, monitoring and change control system requirements, as required by the Contract and to comply with companys internal business processes and systems, as applied through the Project Specific Execution Plan.
- The Commercial Manager will provide the full range of cost management services to selected projects, and, where such services are required to be outsourced, manage the preparation of cost estimates, bills of quantities commercial reports etc.

STRATEGIC DIRECTION:
The Commercial Manager will be expected to establish, develop and document commercial processes as a Commercial Processes Manual for adoption and implementation. The strategic intention is to establish an independent viable commercial management business unit.

Requirements

- BSc in Quantity Surveying or equivalent qualification preferably with a post graduate qualification in construction law, commercial or project management.
- Specifically commercially astute
- Member of a recognized professional institution (RICS preferred)
- Minimum of 6 years of post graduate professional experience of which 10 in a similar position within the consultancy/construction industry (preferably UAE experience)
- Senior level commercial experience on at least one major property design and construct project
- Proven background and experience in management of commercial change control, consultant and contractors claims and assessment of applications for extensions of time.
- A demonstrable understanding of Financial Accounting processes.
