Commercial Manager - HMAF - Qatar

As a Commercial Manager ,you expected to manage the commercial and financial elements of projects from contract signature to final handover and deliver punctual budget control and profit levels including and not limited to: Project Costing, Contractual Issues, variations and valuations, detailed design, quality assurance, claim management and customer satisfaction.

The duties of the Commercial Manager will include:
- To take the lead responsibility in developing, implementing and reviewing effective commercial activity within a project.
- Establishment of robust and consistent change control processes on the Project/Area to ensure that appropriate Contract Price adjustments are identified and agreed with the Client.
- Delivery of consistent value and cost reporting, as required for Business Unit and Project control and review.
- Maintenance of cost control systems for demonstration to clients (where required).
- Identification and implementation of process and/or efficiency improvements in commercial management of Project.
- To provide professional focus, identity and leadership to the Commercial Function within the project or Business Area consistent with Group wide standards and objectives.
- Support Work Winning teams, where required, in identifying and quantifying risk and opportunity in bids and tenders.
- To support, and where necessary lead, key negotiations with prospective customers, partners, contractors and sub- contractors.
- An overview is maintained of Risk Management processes and procedures, including acting as liaison for internal audit activities.
- Contractual imperatives (duties, obligations, notices, standards, etc) are observed and discharged to protect Company position and entitlements under Contract or with Insurances etc.
- Ensure synchronization between the different company department and the commercial department such as finance, quantity surveying and procurement
- Oversee the development of Quarterly and Monthly project financial reports and presentations in coordination with the financial reporting function.

Requirements

- BE Mechanical/Electrical with FIDIC knowledge
- 10 years in core MEP projects out of which 3 years in a similar role on a large-scale projects
- Construction background is essential.
- Preferably SAP knowledge

- A multitude of experience with a main contractor working as a commercial manager from head office.
- Extensive working knowledge of industry standard forms of contract, procurement strategies and activities, negotiating the legal and commercial aspects of sizeable construction contracts, dispute resolution, in particular adjudication and arbitration
