My client is one of the world leading companies in Testing, Inspection & Certification.

It provides solutions in all types of industries to ensure that their assets and products meet quality, health & safety and environmental standards and regulations.

The commercial Manager MECA reports to the Regional Director MECA and is located at the Dubai office. This position provides proposal and project management of commercial responsibilities within the region's Management Team with primary support for the West Africa region. This position provides direct management of proposal generation, model development, contract structuring & risk assessment to ensure that each bid is technically and commercially accurate. It requires a thorough understanding of product lines and contract structures. This position requires synergistic cooperation with all BUA’s of the MECA region, other global corporate entities, and all staff at all levels within the global organization.

Description of the activities
Includes the following, other duties may be assigned as needed:

In general:
- Travel as required to fulfil requirements related to this position for West Africa and International customers.
- Maintain and develop Master Service Agreement commercial relationships with customers to minimize the investment required in project by project sales.

Project and Process Management:
- Manage commercial activities on individual opportunities in partnership with the different MECA BUA’s and the Tank and Pipeline Projects International (TPPI) department and in conjunction with Commercial Management processes from proposal development through contract negotiations and opportunity closure.
- Manage opportunities using a structured project management approach.
- Develop, improve, and integrate commercial management processes
- Proposal & Model Development:
- Develop target proposals, contracts, and other documents necessary for presentation and negotiation of MECA by sales.
- Articulate value proposition in line with the identified customer drivers in order to maximize the customer’s view of Group solution benefits.
- Develop financial models for each opportunity accounting for cost of scope and risks and in alignment with market based pricing and Group objectives.

Contract Negotiations:
- Review customer terms and conditions for compliance with Corporate Procedures and Policies.
Seek alternate contract language to minimize risk while balancing commercial goals and strategies of the proposed value solution.
Participate in and lead contract negotiations, as required, and manage all internal support and approvals.

Risk Management & Deal Approvals:
- Coordinate required resources to seek guidance and obtain internal approvals from Corporate (Finance, Legal, Tax, and Insurance) to mitigate potential risks within a given opportunity.
- Develop and prepare project and yearly forecasts, summaries and opportunity management reports for delivery to management (in cooperation with Regional Controller and RD MECA)
- Turnover to BUA Managers & Operations to ensure successful contract launch and execution.

Requirements

Requirements, knowledge and competencies:

- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering or business management related studies.
- At least 5 years of prior management experience in management of a) sales or proposal
activities, or b) technical or applications engineering support of sales activities
- Proposal development experience along with contract development and negotiation.
- Commercial risk evaluation and mitigation strategies exposure.
- Demonstrated track record of successful goal achievement with the ability to think on a
strategic level as well as a tactical level in order to drive solutions within a matrix
organization.
- Knowledge of Energy market and product offerings strongly preferred.
- Ability to manage time effectively while working under tight deadlines and still have attention
to detail and the ability to solve problems.
- Ability to interpret and communicate customer needs, ability to analyze and interpret data to
make sound professional judgments and recommendations.
- Ability to understand and interpret business financial drivers.
- Excellent verbal and written communication and analytical/quantitative skills, ability to
comprehend and then articulate technical jargon in easily understood terms.
- Be passionate about the products and services and love to sell.
- Maintain a sense of urgency and goal orientation.
- Straightforward, honest, team player.
- Willing to travel.
- Proficient in MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, experience of creating and delivering effective
presentations.
