Our client, a global interior fit out company, who provide bespoke fitout services to the leisure and hotel sector seeks a Commercial Manager to lead the commercial division of this growing firm with major operations across the Gulf. Their projects comprise super yachts and five star hotels with 4 factories covering 300,000 sq.m. and over 1,000 tradesmen.

Reporting to the Chief Operating Officer, the responsibilities of this role include:

• Management of 6 Estimators, 2 Quantity Surveyors and 3 Procurement Managers
• Management of all project activities from inception to completion including the management of the Tender Department to produce estimates, budgets and bills of materials.
• Management and coordination of shop drawings, procurement, purchasing, manufacturing, delivery and site installation.
• Maximizes company’s use of assets towards project completion.
• Acts to minimize outstanding issues with Clients / Consultants regarding project tasks, work quality and completion times.
• Management, organisation and planning of all areas relative to sub contractor liaison and programming.
• Submit monthly management reports relative to project tracking, procurement and progress. The reports should identify problem areas and recommend procedures to site progress.
• Evaluation of workers’ performance as per ISO requirements.
• Train and document the training of new employees as per ISO requirements.
• Tracking, supervision and steering of company projects through Project Managers for successful, timely completion.
• Debrief at critical phases or benchmarks, distribute and implement improvements in future designs or continuing phases.
• Consistently keep abreast of market trends and construction methods.
• Input feedback relating to Company policy & procedure to continuously seek excellence by improving, refining & modifying procedures.

Requirements

The attributes we seek for this successful candidate include:

• Candidates must possesses a Degree in Civil Engineering / Quantity Surveying or be a Certified Cost Engineer / Accountant with at least 15 years of experience as a site construction manager / contracts manager / quantity surveyor specializing in Interior decoration of yachts, palaces, 5 star Hotels
• The exceptional communicator must have commercial acumen with analytical abilities.
• Solid experience in project costing and scheduling, preparing responses to proposals, bid preparation, and tendering techniques, contract management as well as procurement management.
