The RoleThe RoleA major steel manufacturing company requires a Commercial Manager for their operations in Saudi Arabia. Reporting directly to the General Manager, the successful candidate will be based in Riyadh, KSA and will have overall responsibilities for the commercial overview of the business portfolio of projects executed under a contract from early stages of tender preparation, through handover to Contracts Department and the final completion and handover to the client. The major responsibilities are highlighted as follows: • Head the sales and business development strategies of the company within KSA and other parts of GCC • Establish and maintain appropriate systems for monitoring and measuring business and individual project cash flow. • Review commercial conditions of potential contracts at tender stage, identifying potential risk and implication to the business. • Submit a written monthly report on the company/project financial position. • Co-ordinate all functions to ensure good liaison and co-operation between internal departments and external clients (where required) to ensure priorities are achieved in line with the overall schedule. • Ensure that Client's representatives are fully informed on progress and the current state of the Contract. • Generate and maintain a culture whereby all parties are encouraged to work together towards common improvement goals. • Support the generation and implementation of new ideas and improvements in all aspects of the business. • Where required represent the Company at management and progress meetings called by the Company or the Client. • Ensure a strict adherence to the company financial and system procedures. • Any additional responsibility assigned by the General Manager. |
RequirementsRequirementsThe ideal applicant will be educated to degree level in Engineering or equivalent qualification To be considered you should be commercially astute and with an eye for detail. Candidates will preferably already have at least 5 years experience at a senior level within the steel industry with commercial responsibility for a number of projects although applicants with lesser experience but the drive and ambition to step up to the next level are also encouraged to apply. Considerable experience in reviewing / drafting tenders and contracts is required. |
