The RoleThe RoleElectrical Commissioning Engineer 1. Provides documentation or design narratives for electrical services to be for specific MEP equipment requirements. 2. Provides electrical system information confirming compatibility with electrical service requirements specified by the mechanical design professional for all MEP equipment and systems. Provide information necessary for the basis of design. 3. Prepares contract documents that coordinate interfaces between life safety systems MEP and BMCS systems including commissioning specifications. 4. Attends construction phase coordination meeting scheduled by the Client’s Commissioning Representative. 5. Participates in the start-up of MEP equipment and systems. 6. Participates in the MEP training sessions as required. 7. Participates in review of shop drawings for MEP equipment. 8. Reviews prepared by the Contractor electrical ladder wiring diagrams indicating power source connections to MEP equipment and systems and interrelationships between life safety systems and MEP systems and equipment, including a review of the automatic control and/or building automation system. 9. Collates as-built electrical service record drawings prepared by the Contractor as required by contract documents. 10. Verifies that any space requirements for electrical equipment are in accordance with relevant code requirements. 11. Participates in O&M personnel orientation and inspection sessions. 12. Reviews pre-functional checklists and tests records to determine that all components, equipment, systems, and interfaces between systems operate in accordance with contract documents. This includes all operating modes, interlocks, control responses, and specific responses to abnormal or emergency conditions. 13. Experienced in District Cooling Plants |
RequirementsRequirementsPREFERRED EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE: 4-year degree in Engineering (or related field) and 10-12 years of related work experience. Professional Engineer registration may be required. SKILLS/COMPETENCIES: Potential to perform in a lead capacity, excellent written and oral communications skills, and a familiarity of industry practices and regulations are required. Must also possess a thorough knowledge of current technology and be able to select and apply appropriate engineering software for use on project. |
