Employment: Full Time

Salary: $15K + accommodation, transportation, flights back to point on origin etc.

A major Combined Cycle Power Plant (CCPP) project in the Eastern Region of Saudi Arabia is looking for a Lead Commissioning Engineer.

In general the duty is to undertake all necessary actions and work to fulfill the scope to the full satisfaction of the Client and the Clients representative. In particular the duties for the aforementioned position include but are not limited to the following:
- He shall report to the Project Manager and work closely with the Site Engineering Team Construction and Commissioning Manager.
- He shall take part in regular Teleconference calls with the Engineering team in conjunction with the Project Manager.
- He shall familiarize himself with the Tender documents, specification of works and Project Schedules especially the Commissioning & Turnover schedule.
- With careful attention to the Schedule he shall support the Commissioning Manager to ensure that commissioning documentation and procedures are in place and approved.
- He shall monitor handover from Erection to Commissioning activities and supporting documentation in conjunction with the site team to maintain scheduling targets.
- He shall ensure that Commissioning activities/energisation of systems is carried out in a safe controlled manner and that LOTO systems are in place and implemented.
- He shall closely monitor Commissioning activities and provide support and guidance to the contractors carrying out this work.
- He shall witness specific Commissioning tests and milestone activities as required and ensure that the correct supporting documentation is processed by the Contractors.
- He shall work with the Site team, Power Plant Contractors Engineering Team and Head Office Team to identify and resolve all outstanding engineering issues affecting progress. This will also include processing of As-built drawings.
- He shall support the Site engineers and Construction Manager and ensure they are working to current drawings and documentation.
- Review and approve site related general commissioning/engineering matters submitted by the Contractor. This may include O&M documents, Operator Training Manuals and Spare parts handover process and other relevant documents.
- Attend the regular (weekly/monthly) coordination meetings with the Contractor. When required he shall chair meetings related to commissioning issues, maintain and distribute Minutes of Meetings.
- Prepare the regular progress reports for the general part as required by the Project/Site/Commissioning Manager (weekly and monthly) and final report.
- Ensure strict adherence of the project procedures, technical and administrative, issued by the Head Office and the Project Manager. In case of difficulties in application of such instructions, the Project Manager shall be consulted before any other actions are being taken.
- Receive and implement instructions as given by the Project Manager, Commissioning Manager and project Director.
- Cooperate in all activities with the Site commissioning team in accordance with the instructions of the Project Manager.

Requirements

The successful candidate must have a degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering and must have a minimum of 10 years working as a Commissioning Engineer on Power or Desalination project. Experience in the Middle East or other remote locations is an advantage.
