The RoleThe RoleThis role is part of a new Communications Unit that will influence and manage media and public perception of the Government of Kuwait, both in terms of its long term vision and its performance in everyday affairs. This role is responsible for: Managing the media grid (a calendar based tool) to ensure all Government of Kuwait messages and events are coordinated and strategically timed. Tracking and regularly updating important events (within the government, Kuwait and internationally) happening within a 3 month timeframe; drafting related background material to inform press relations and senior government minister briefing needs. Serving as the primary contact for any government requests involving major announcements or public events Distributing the media grid and associated background materials to appropriate senior government officials to ensure message alignment and coordination |
RequirementsRequirementsThe successful candidate is likely to have the following profile: At least 5 years experience managing large, complex marketing or PR campaigns within a private organization, agency or government body. Previous experience as a press officer is preferred. Demonstrable ability to multi-task and perform effectively in high-pressure situations. Exceptionally well organized and attentive to detail. Excellent people skills as evidenced by the ability to listen, negotiate and maintain firmness. Ability to deliver results in an environment of ambiguity and change. High levels of drive and enthusiasm. A confident decision maker. Familiarity with Kuwait media, society, politics and culture. Excellent written and verbal Arabic and English language skills. Undergraduate degree from a reputable Kuwait or foreign university, preferably in communications. Ideally, an advanced degree from a reputable Kuwaiti or foreign university. Kuwait nationality would be highly desirable. |
