Our client is a global leading FMCG company, who is recruiting a Communications Manager to join their team in Qatar. Our client is looking for someone with a background any of the following: TV production, content generation, Editor In Chief with experience in the Qatar market.

PURPOSE OF THE JOB:
The Communications Manager is leading the editorial communications team through earned and owned media channels in their country and the establishment of the companys Media House as own business approach which is the consequent extension of classic communications strategy.

They strategically plan the national communications approach as Editor in Chief and select the relevant channels, products, distribution tactics and fitting messages/topics to be communicated to consumers. This includes all channels, traditional and online.

Not only do they distribute content of own productions but also syndicate international content to national media outlets and support the Media House with information sharing, content licensing as well as providing creative input for Media House properties (channels). The Communications Manager is developing stories about the WORB and is leading all needed productions (TV, radio, print, moving images, still images, digital).

They act as a media entrepreneur in their country constantly fostering media innovation and development of business opportunities in consumer communications and interaction through digital and traditional media channels.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
1. ESTABLISH
- Leading the establishment of a media network (personal relationships) in all relevant fields for our client, be it to support the national communications targets and business plan goals, as well as the establishment of the our clients Media House approach (content developer, long format production, media houses, etc). They establish own channels and media products according to marketing needs and business opportunities.
2. PLAN
- Integrated into the local marketing team they lead the development of a target-oriented, well-balanced annual communications plan that serves the local business needs best, making full use of the companys content portfolio by leveraging local and global/international projects in the local media market to build brand awareness and image and generate revenues. According to target audiences and media they plan corresponding high quality media productions to service the media network and relationship, which they constantly improve and deliver against communication targets. They develop a national Business Plan for our clients Media House in their market and run its products/services/channels on a national level following the international guidelines. They are responsible for the national communications budget and KPIs.
3. PRODUCE
- Following the plans, they lead the production of both locally and internationally relevant top quality content and acts as executive producer for our client in the territory. They ensure the selection and management of the right production partners (still/moving images, freelancers, and digital media), brief them and safeguard top quality execution and compliance with local but also international Content Pool delivery standards. They have the overall responsibility for Rights Clearance of Media Content. They collect all media relevant contracts and coordinate overall rights clearance for all local productions to guarantee full exploitation on all Channels and international distribution with the aim to reach more eyes and increase revenues.
4. DISTRIBUTE
- Strategically distribute customized local and international content nationally to the appropriate media outlets (internal and external) in print, web and TV developing the right mix between own channel building and external media relations. They seek new business opportunities in regards to content licensing and takes the lead for at least one content licensing deal for properties out of the Sales Catalogue in the territory per year. They drive the usage of the Content Pool as a main source for high quality media productions.
5. CONTRIBUTE
- They lead content development and collection for the Media House, feeding requested information plus finalized editorially valuable productions (moving images, audio, stills) into the global Content Pool in time, according to its technical specifications and keeps all relevant materials updated (Content Pool, Info Net, ) also delivering the requested documentation. They feed the Media House with new format ideas, suggestions for possible content acquisitions and adequate content for its channel building and to drive the establishment of a credible 360 degree media company.
6. MONITOR
- They ensure the monitoring of media output according to international standards and are responsible for the integration of national clippings into the global Coverage Database (Info Net). If requested they issue a monthly communication report to be shared with the regional manager, marketing manager, HQ and the local team.

Requirements

EDUCATION AND QUALIFICATIONS:
- University degree or similar education

EXPERIENCE:
1. Broad experience of the Media Business in an Editor in Chief , TV production or content generation role (at least 5 years in the Media Business in a position of seniority) and profound communications, brand knowledge.
2. Experience in leading a strong brand in editorial communication.
3. Experienced in engaging digital brand communication.

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS:
1. Fluent in written and spoken English & Arabic. EDV (Word, Excel, Power Point, etc.).
2. Understanding the national media landscape (all channels: TV, print, digital, radio), ideally already maintaining a strong network.
3. Editorial sense (being the national Editor in Chief): content & story developer
4. Understanding of distribution (print, broadcast, web & new media).
5. Broad production knowledge (photography, text, moving images).
6. Strong digital understanding
7. Strong management skills (Team of specialists, leading external media companies, freelancers, etc.).
8. Experience in the Qatar market is essential
