The RoleThe RoleMy client who is a telecoms giant in Jordan is seeking a (Jordanian national only) Community Officer for the Virtual and BTL face of a company, managing communications in both directions. This digital-savvy employee is responsible for all on-line communications, social media, and content creation, among other things. She/he is a motivated individual with experience and passion for blogging/micro-blogging and community participation leadership. My client is looking for someone: - who tweets and uses Facebook every day, almost all the time; who is engaged in building social community; - who takes pride in customer service excellence and likes to be considered as an entrepreneur; - who understands the difference between a “brochure website,” a “publication” and knows why feeds are important. Roles and responsibilities: The successful candidate will join our Corporate Communications team and will oversee and contribute recurrent content to holistically support our customers and corporate objectives with the following: 1. Act as the client’s Brand ambassador on Social Media: -Be the eyes and ears of our brand as if her/his own reputation depended on it: participate minute by minute in conversations that surround our contents and brand, answer comments, be a mediator; -Identify threats and opportunities in user generated content surrounding our brand, report to appropriate parties; -Participate in social media both as themselves and on behalf of client; -Identify & engage other advocates to build a community of ambassadors; -Proactively escalate issues, observations, opportunities, and insights to the executive team. 2. Content creation -writing blog posts, short articles, and material for social media channels or websites; -tag and title contents, with an understanding of how the word’s chosen impact natural search traffic and rankings via recurrent optimized content. 3. Social Media Marketing: -Create, manage and grow the company’s presence through blogs, Twitter, Facebook, and other strategically relevant online properties; -Stay up to date on new social media tools, best practices and how other organizations and companies are using them, so that the company can continue to be an early adopter of these technologies; -Create, execute and measure social media on-line campaigns such as competitions. 4. Social Media PR: -Support Corporate Communications and PR teams and contribute to channel and leverage their activities onto existing digital platforms;  Create, animate or attend social media PR event and related events such as experts’ conferences, tweetup meeting or blogger meetings. 5. Customer relations: the Community Officer is often solicited for customer support -Interact with our customers to align unselfish service of their needs, with our corporate objectives; -Answer questions however they come in (phone, e-mail, Twitter) and manage any online feedback forums; -Work closely with Customer Care teams dedicated to Social Media channels. 6. Manage relationship with stakeholders: -Interact with Strategic Business and CSR partners to coordinate relevant activities on social media; -Interact with search, marketing, PR and other corporate agencies. 7. Analytics & Reporting -Use market analytics and in-house measurement tools to provide reports on metrics (creating and updating daily, weekly and monthly reports) and continually find ways to improve on those metrics through testing and new initiatives; -Analyze campaigns and translate anecdotal or qualitative data into recommendations and plans for revising the social media campaigns. |
RequirementsRequirementsQualifications and Experience -Has a bachelor’s or associates degree in advertising, marketing, graphics, web development, communications, English, IT, music, theater, anthropology, history or related; -Dedicated to micro-blogging and/or blogging, and use of Facebook, understands the power of feed marketing and social media universe including YouTube, Flickr, Forums, Twitter, Wikis, blogs, etc.; -Has excellent verbal and written communication skills in both Arabic and English, and an ability to work individually on a project or in a team environment; -Can identify threats and opportunities in user generated content an act accordingly; -Excels at research, possesses excellent writing skills and the ability to crank editorial and technical writing output with confidence; -Is proficient with Microsoft Office products; -Has the ability to jump from the creative side of marketing to analytical side; -Brings to the position outstanding organizational skills and the ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously while meeting deadlines; -Has the ability to communicate results to management in a timely manner and in a fast paced environment. Would be a real plus if the candidate demonstrates the following: -Possesses functional knowledge or some experience with HTML/CSS; -Has work experience or training in advertising, PR, online marketing or similar field; -Demonstrated creativity and documented immersion in social media (really send the links); -Experienced sourcing and managing content publishing on commercial or corporate websites. Personal qualities/skills: -Outgoing personality – she/he will be required to walk into networking events and be comfortable introducing themselves to strangers; -Interest in our industry, tech savvy - a Community Officer needs to be passionate about what they do; -Willingness to work around the clock - being a Community Officer is not a 9-5 job: involves working some evenings and weekends, and responding to community members outside of work hours; -Ability to work under pressure: great time management skills, ability to multitask, intelligence in prioritizing and interpreting user-generated contents. |
