POSITION SUMMARY

The Compensation & Benefits Analyst is the key resource for the College’s salary and benefit programs and supports programs such as merit review, variable pay, and job evaluation. Under the direction of the Associate Director, HR Services, the Analyst is responsible for compensation and benefits administration and customer service, and administration of the performance management system.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES

Works on a variety of projects including program design, analysis, budgeting, implementation of new programs, and reporting. Serves as benefits subject matter expert on WCMC standard benefits and Qatar specific benefits covering academic and non-academic staff.

Administers Qatar specific benefits (including relocation advance, transportation allowances, end of service pay, etc.), administers applications for basic benefits (including employee tuition reimbursement, career life planning, college tuition scholarship, etc.) and responds to staff queries in a timely and professional manner.

Manage projects such as survey participation and analysis, periodic market assessments of benefits such as Qatar Foreign Service Benefits, best practice comparisons, and employee health and wellness initiatives. Makes recommendations for program, procedural and/or policy changes.

Administers all employee benefit enrollment processes and maintains employee benefits records. Also develops and prepares benefit presentation content and conducts new employee benefit orientations; organizes annual open enrollment activities; responds to employee queries.

Ensures compliance with regulatory requirements for leave policies and practice. This includes compliance with FMLA/STD law and local labor standards. Provides advice to employees and managers regarding leave and processes leave requests.
Organizes annual merit and performance review process.

Assists with the accurate and efficient delivery of compensation via SAP HCM position entry, payroll entry, and regular auditing of compensation-related records. Works with the HRIS/Business Analyst and IT staff to ensure that the SAP system meets compensation and benefit needs.

Administers the Qatar job evaluation process and liaises with HR WCMC-NY as appropriate on determining job grades. Makes recommendations on starting salaries and pay adjustments for Qatar employees.

Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

BA/BS in Human Resources, Business Administration or related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Minimum 3 years experience in HR. 3-5 years’ experience in the analysis, design, and/or administration of compensation and/or benefit programs is preferred.

Good working knowledge of general US employment law, ERISA, HIPPA, COBRA, FLMA and other related regulations governing employee benefit programs.
Good working knowledge of FLSA and other related regulations governing employee pay programs.
Proficiency in MS Suite of products including Word, Excel and PowerPoint.

Advanced oral and written communication skills.
Previously demonstrated advanced ability to analyze problems and provide creative solutions.
Prior experience working with HRIS packages.
High attention to accuracy, detail, and an ability to deliver results within deadlines.

HIGHLY DESIRED REQUIREMENTS

MA/MS/MBA.
Prior experience in an international setting.
Knowledge of NY and/or Qatar labor law.
International benefits experience.
International compensation experience.
Prior experience in a cross-cultural working environment.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

Work is completed in office environment.
Approximately 60% is computer based, 40% desk/office based.
The job requires extended and varying work hours to meet demands.
