The RoleThe RoleThe position is based in the BP Muscat office and reports to the Oman D&C Engineering Team Leader. The Completion Engineer will be responsible for: • Designing well completions that are mechanically and operationally fit for purpose for the production life of the well. • Conducting risk assessments on all completion programmes and developing appropriate mitigation and contingency plans. • Ensuring completion equipment is selected and ordered in a timely fashion, in order to allow for flexibility in the drilling programme. • Communicating with other members of the Wells and Subsurface teams, key well service contractors and sub-contractors to optimise well planning, programming and completion installation. • Programming, co-ordinating (and monitoring performance) of completion operations in order to control cost and safely minimise downtime. • Ensuring completions performance is continuously challenged (including the identification of areas for improvement) and ensure use of best technology • Providing assistance in transfer of lessons learned and best practise and raise the profile of any successes through papers, conferences and networks, etc. Our business is the exploration, production, refining, trading and distribution of energy. RequirementsRequirements• An engineering bachelors degree or masters degree majoring in Petroleum, Mechanical, Chemical, or Electrical Technology / Engineering • Minimum of 5 years completions engineering experience. • Can demonstrate sound understanding of drilling and completion operations • Have good command of English both oral and written |
