Employment: Full Time

The role supports the Head of Legal and Compliance, Private Banking Clients, MEAP to perform interpretive risk based compliance reviews to obtain assurance as to compliance with regulatory requirements and Key Control Standards and support to deliver overall, appropriate CDD management and maintenance of standards in the Private Bank

Key Roles & Responsibilities
- To conduct monthly Trade Surveillance activity in line with the requirements set out in the Trade Surveillance Guide for PvB UAE.
- To assist in the growth and development of the business through advice and guidance to management and staff in relation to the various regulatory requirements of financial services provision.
- To advise on the impact and requirements of all relevant legislation, regulations, guidelines, policies and procedures defined by SCB Group or Regulator and all legal and regulatory bodies in which the business operates by ensuring the appropriate level of awareness and training is achieved within a controlled and well documented operating environment.
- To advise on review and approved new accounts and Periodic Reviews in line with the requirements set out in the Private Bank CDD Procedures.
- To undertake Trade Surveillance monitoring activities.
- Participate in trade surveillance's projects and 'business as usual' in Dubai. This includes conducting trade surveillance preliminary investigations, and conducting Compliance investigations as required.
- Work with Group Trade Surveillance on trade survelliance matters to ensure consistent standards in Dubai and global teams.
- Interact with trade surveillance technology team and Group Trade Surveillance to track and resolve issues, escalating when necessary.
- To produce formal reports for submission to Head of Legal and Compliance, Private Banking Clients, MEAP and Risk Committees and other key stakeholders. To escalate issues that are identified to Head of Legal and Compliance, Private Banking Clients, MEAP in accordance with methodology in the Trade Surveillance Guide as well as the scope of the respective Compliance Monitoring review.
- To undertake root cause analysis on issues identified through above monitoring activities and ensure that any remediation and broader procedural changes that may be proposed are implemented within the stipulated time frames.
- To assist with the ongoing Risk Assessment process under the major Compliance themes.
- Ensuring changes to policies, procedures, laws, regulations and guidelines are suitably assessed and documented then communicated to staff in a timely and effective manner.

Requirements

- Assessing CDD risks arising from specific clients and advise the business on management and mitigation of those risks in the best interests of Private Bank.
- Collaborative working - Able to build a relationship with the Private Bank and the country Head of FCC to ensure that local CDD procedures remain up-to-date and in compliance with local laws and regulations in country;
- Training of teams in the Private Bank that are responsible for CDD in the first line of defence and establishing a feedback loop to support continuous improvement and awareness;
- Testing of compliance with the PvB CDD procedures and applicable local laws and regulations
- An industry leader in the eyes of the relevant regulators and industry stakeholders.
