We have a new requirement based in Bahrain for a design engineer (2-4 years experience) who would be working on Wind Energy Projects for European clients.

Our client requires someone who has a high level of German as they would be dealing with Germans clients.

Job Specification:

Purpose of the job and description:
To provide technical support, design and services to Wind Energy Projects in order to deliver technical solutions on a number of projects.
Duties and Responsibilities:

- Carry out design solutions to meet customer and internal design requirements.
- Prepare design schemes, 3D models and detail drawings accordance with the project schedule and allocated budget, and to provide ongoing support throughout the product development process.
- Perform component design using 2D and 3D modeling and detailing for composite part design to support tooling function.
- Deliver technical solutions using knowledge of design principles and composite manufacturing processes.
- Optimize design solutions for weight and manufacturing cost by using conceptual design, schematic design, 3D modeling and detailing.
- Prepare and present design data at internal/external design reviews.
- Generate design reports to support component qualification and certification.
- Prepare and generate bills of materials created from drawings.
- Prepare manufacturing process documentation.
- Liaise with production department to ensure an integrated and seamless new product introduction process.
- Participate in technical meetings with customers and other manufacturing departments.
- Manage and control cost and monitor budget spending of certain projects.

Requirements

Knowledge and Skills:
- Knowledge of design principles for composite materials as well as composite manufacturing processes in wind energy environment.
- Knowledge of Stress/Strain calculations and usage of recognized software packages such as Catia V5 or equivalent.
- Knowledge of wind energy dynamics, strength of material an Isotropic structural modeling.
- Hands on experience within composite manufacturing environment in wind energy field.
- Proactive with excellent inter-personnel skills and ability to work unsupervised.
- Natural problem solver, capable of working under pressure to deliver on time and cost.
- Able to build rapport with of other team members quickly and communicate effectively with customers.
- Excellent analytical and problem solving skills.
- Fluent in English and German languages.
Qualification & Experience:
- Bachelor degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering.
- 2 years experience in the design of fibre-reinforced composite structures.
