Construction Assurance Engineer

Job description / Role

This individual is tasked to conduct observation, surveillance and audit activities in order to assure that the contractors activities are in compliance with its approved plans and processes as well as the contract requirements.

The project consists of heavy civil work involving station construction by cut-and-cover means and tunnel construction by TBM and conventional means. Prior experience in deep excavation, support of excavation, concrete structures, waterproofing and finishes or tunneling experience is preferred.
- Maintains frequent contact with contractors quality control staff and field supervisory personnel in performing its duties.
- Performs observation, surveillance and audit activities on selected contractor project field activities including environmental emissions and controls.
- Monitors progress against approved schedules.
- Monitors project safety programs, assuring contractor adherence to its approved safety plans as well as contractual requirements.
- Provides reporting to Red Line field management organization of any deficiencies in contractor compliance with approved plans and procedures, issues related to implementation of the work and other pertinent matters.

Requirements

- Experience on industry relevant projects for position, preferably with successive responsibility on large projects transportation or infrastructure projects.
- Accredited college degree in related industry activities (engineering or construction management) or equivalent related experience.
- Certifications of continued industry training and education related to the work such as specifications quality standards related to the heavy construction, rail or transportation industry.
- NEBOSH International Certificate in construction Health & Safety or ability to obtain one within six (6) months after initial project assignment date.
- English fluency in reading, writing and speech.
- Proficient experience in key MS Desktop applications.
- Prior experience on multi-phase projects and in the Middle East is preferred.
