Job description / Role
The Construction Field Engineer will be responsible for providing field engineering support for the Project team during the detail design, procurement and construction for a specific project. After finalizing around 60% to 70% of the design stage he will be responsible to identify and to solve any engineering problems arising at the construction site. During this phase he will be fully allocated to the construction site.
Successful candidate will assist the activities of other Project team members consisting of Construction, Quality Assurance, Supply Management, Project Controls, Safety, and Environmental personnel in supporting all construction phases. Coordinates, reviews and approves engineering activities of the assigned discipline supervisors during the construction phase of the project including a report function to the Home Office Engineering Coordinator.
He will be responsible for all Coordination / resolution / approval of construction related NCR's, TQ's, and TDRs. Managing the development and implementation of a detailed Pre-Commissioning and commissioning plan and obtaining client approval. He will be responsible for scheduling and executing surveying services which provide the subcontractors with reference points and elevations for construction purposes and checks them after installation. Carries out inspection of equipment upon arrival at the site, specifically the control of nozzle and anchor bolt holes orientation with the assistance of the Construction Supervisors and Surveyors.
Requirements
- Typically 15+ years of related industry experience as a Field Engineering Lead, Project Engineer with an Engineering Degree.
- 10 years experience in the Construction Industry, preferably Oil & Gas/ EPC Contracting.
- Good leadership and supervisory skills.
- Strong proven communication, negotiations, influencing and presentation skills.
