Employment: Full Time

STR Global in partnership with an International main contractor is recruiting for a bilingual (Arabic / English) Construction Manager for their upcoming major build projects in Qatar.

Our Client is in the top 15 Construction Companies globally and has an annual turnover of approximately USD $800 million. With over 25,000 employees worldwide our client has successfully established a name for themselves in mega build and infrastructure projects globally and is building foundations to assist in Qatar’s 2030 vision. They are targeting a Top 5 place as in International Construction Company in the region within the next 12 months.

As a newly established company in the region our client is looking for candidates with local and regional knowledge that can assist and share their experience.

Experience required on major build projects with a preference to Stadium, High-rise, Hospital and Mall projects.

This is a diverse role that will include working closely with the Project Manager across 2 or 3 projects at any one time.

Responsibilities of this role include:
• Controlling and supervising construction site works and all site staff.
• Scheduling the project and advice on budget and time required to meet deadlines.
• Inspect and review projects to monitor compliance with building and safety codes, and other regulations.
• Ensuring all safety standards and policies are in place and implemented by all staff.
• Preparing work schedules and reports to Project Manager on site progress.
• Developing and implementing quality control programs.
• Negotiating revisions, changes and additions to contractual agreements with architects, consultants, clients, suppliers and subcontractors.
• Studying job specifications to determine appropriate construction methods.
• Preparing and submitting budget estimates, progress and cost tracking reports.
• Taking actions to deal with delays or emergencies on the construction site.
• Meeting with supervisory personnel, owners, contractors, and design professionals to discuss and resolve matters such as work procedures, complaints, and construction problems.
• Planning, organizing, and directing activities concerned with the construction and maintenance of structures, facilities, and systems.
• Investigating damages, accidents, or delays at construction sites, to ensure that proper procedures are being carried out.
• Evaluating construction methods and determine cost-effectiveness of plans

Requirements

Skills and experience required:
• Candidates will ideally have a minimum of 8 years overall experience with at least 3 years in a senior role.
• This role is a long term permanent position based in the Doha, Qatar. Preference to Lebanese nationals
• Experience with local government bodies and municipalities would be highly beneficial.

Qualifications required:
• Degree in Civil Engineering or Building Services
• PMP Preferred

Salary Package:

Monthly Base of QAR. 23 -27,000/- + Annual Flights + Medical Insurance
