Construction Manager (Pumping Station Project) - Kuwait, Kuwait

The Project is for the refurbishment/upgrading of 2 sea water pumping stations each of capacity 182,000m3/h which supply cooling water to the adjacent petrochemical facilities. The Works will be executed under separate Works Contracts with the first already under construction and the second due to be awarded by the end of 2014.

This role is required to manage the project, oversee/supervise all aspects of the work and act as an Engineer of the Client.

Duration of the assignment is 3 years.

Working hours are 48 hour weeks, 5 days per week.

Job Responsibilities
- Manage and supervise project staff
- Manage and supervise the contractor and his subcontractors
- Client management - daily meetings and follow up
- Chair and minute weekly progress meetings; up to 28no. attendees (Client & Contractor)
- Review contractor's submissions and daily and monthly reports
- Distribute and coordinate contractor submissions for internal review
- Claims management

Requirements

- Minimum 15 years experience in Site Supervision of construction projects;
- 10 years experience in Site Supervision related to Water projects (preferably pumping stations);
- 5 years experience as Resident Engineer;
- Experience in relation to the supervision of Works executed as Design&Build;
- BSc in Engineering;
- Skills in team leadership;
- Ability to work with limited support;
- Good Client Relationship skills;
- Ability to assume the PM role:
- Prepared to live and work in Kuwait;
- Willingness to complete the Work likely to be for a period in excess of 3 years
